“Princess Charleston of the Isle of Palms” is a sweet book for children. The book includes a moral, something that is hard to find in Children’s books today. It tells the moral that if you care for others, they will care for you in return. Princess Charleston loves all of her animal friends on the beach and watches out for them as an upcoming storm approaches. The main character is a true jewel in the eye of her beach friends. Some of the grammar does not allow for the best flow. Also if some of the content is moved to a page by itself that would allow the anticipation to build more and draw the readers’ attention.

What a great souvenir book to pick up for your kids if you are on vacation in the Charleston area! Your children will be singing the Princess’ sweet song of friendship and caring when they finish reading this adorable book. Such an easy storyline to follow and the illustrations add great visuals to the story. I love how the Princess cares for her friends who could not otherwise help themselves and how they return the favor. Along with the rising conflict of the storm comes a great resolution at the end of the story. Ending on such a happy note your little princess will surely be pleased with this story of the Princess Charleston and her beach friends. Good Job, Kelly and Sara on the story and the illustrations that pair up so well.
