Julia Kershaw, has a favorite cove where she likes to go to watch the waves of the ocean crash upon the beach.  There is no one there to bother her.  It is her own private space.  Until she sees a boat out in the water. Pulling out her binoculars she witnesses a frightening scene. She witnessed a murder and the body thrown overboard.  Did the murderer see her?

Detective  Inspector Daniel Conway  is taking  over for the now retired Inspector Langton. As Julia goes busting into his office to report the murder she just  witnessed, she  was in for a shock.  She was expecting to see Langton.  Instead, there was handsome Conway.  An incident left her with a dislike of police officers.  Julia does not realize how much danger she  really is in.  Julia will have to put aside her anger at the police and work side by side with Conway.

The suspense grabs the reader at the beginning and continues throughout the story line. As the Inspector hunts for  the murderer, Julia  tries to help. They find out; there are more secrets revealed the deeper they dig. From gambling to loan sharks  to murder. This is a very entertaining read with the background characters lending greatly to the story line.   This book contains strong language.
