Revelations of the Cave is a work in the conspiracy, thriller, and action-adventure subgenres and forms the third and final installment of the Caves of Corihor trilogy. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience and is penned by JD Shiner. Continuing the adventures of the heroic Napoleon Hancock and Cassandra Caro, we again find ourselves amidst a sea of secrets, wicked plots, and high-stakes drama. The Presidential Praetorian Initiative is an elite team hell-bent on securing success for POTUS, whatever the devastating cost. However, our heroes will soon discover new clues, including a revelation hidden in a long-forgotten language, to help them survive and overthrow evil forces.

JD Shiner has crafted a superb work of adventure, conspiracy, and thriller fiction that is not to be missed. Fans of the existing series will no doubt be waiting for this startling conclusion to a rip-roaring trilogy. I was very impressed with how the drama escalated and got increasingly nail-biting, especially after the big twists in the final third of the storyline. Napoleon is such a fascinating character to me, filled with complexities and such vulnerability under pressure despite his varied skillset, and I think it’s down to JD Shiner’s attention to detail in narrative and dialogue presentation that we get so much realism and reliability from the characters that you genuinely care about their fate. As a fantastic and suspenseful adventure, I recommend Revelations of the Cave and the Caves of Corihor trilogy to conspiracy thriller fans everywhere.

The Special Agents of the Presidential Praetorian Initiative (PPI) - a covert black operations group only used by POTUS - Napoleon Hancock and Cassandra had no idea what awaited them. They had just accomplished their latest mission which involved retrieving the stolen sword of Abraham, an ancient artifact found in a recently discovered cave in the Sierra Nevada. In a follow-up, they were headed to one of China’s numerous islands to identify who was behind the theft and other recent terrorist attacks in the US. An important Chinese prisoner was abducted in a violent raid on a rendition camp in the Mojave Desert by unknown men, forcing POTUS to recall his PPI squad. With his most trusted boss in a coma, a CIA agent joining his squad, and enemies watching his moves closely, Napoleon was determined to uncover the perpetrator behind all the recent disastrous events in the US. JD Shiner’s Revelations of the Cave is just what lovers of fast-paced, action-packed, conspiracy thriller novels should be looking for. It is a gripping tale that includes double agents, mercenaries, bureaucrats, prisoners, “moles”, secrets, money, power, betrayal, and loyalty. Shiner had me hooked with the intriguing plot, exciting action, ingenious twists, thrills, and adventure, keeping me in suspense. The vivid and colorful depictions brought places such as Los Angeles, the Mojave Desert, and Istanbul to life. Coupled with the bold way Shiner brought out the well-crafted protagonists' qualities and emotions made me feel as if I was right in the middle of all the action. Napoleon is that type of intelligent, intuitive, plucky, undaunted character you simply can’t get enough of. This is the third installment in the Caves of Corihor series but is also a stand-alone read. I loved this magnificent piece of work.

Revelations of the Cave: Caves of Corihor is an outstanding thriller by J.D. Shiner. How is it that an antique sword supposedly belonging to Abraham in the Old Testament is found sealed in a hidden room in the mountains of eastern California? A team of scientists and academic researchers is gathered to investigate the archeological discoveries in the cave complex in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. They need answers and must decipher the basics of the writing on the walls. Napoleon and Cassandra are part of the black ops team called the PPI. After PPI director Jack Stone was bombed and ended up in a hospital in a coma, Napoleon has the feeling that headquarters did not have their back. Napoleon and Cassandra have the most challenging fight of their careers during a conflict in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I was on the edge of my seat reading Revelations of the Cave. J.D. Shiner had me hooked from the first page until the end. The plot was planned and executed brilliantly, and I was drawn into the world Shiner created. The storyline moved along at breakneck speed and was jam-packed with action. With all the twists and turns, I never knew what would happen next. There was a surprise waiting around every corner. It was an exciting read, and I could not turn the pages fast enough. The characters were interesting and authentic. There were a great variety of role players, and it was exciting to get to know them. The story is well written and has a fitting end. It exceeded my expectations by far.
