Sea Island: The Earth-Watchers Series #3 by Lester Ferguson is a beautifully illustrated book about the Earth-Watchers and their adventures. The Earth-Watchers go to the Bahamas to help a friend restore the exotic Sea Island Coral Reef. The Sea Island Coral Reef is a large and beautiful reef with diverse marine life. Though beautiful, this coral reef has its share of predators. The Earth-Watchers find themselves discovering lost secrets while on their mission to save the coral reef from poachers. Readers will find themselves taken into the exquisite world of sea creatures and the secrets there on the ocean bed.

Wild Bill and Old Blue take readers on a beautiful journey where they learn more about the creatures in the ocean. The story takes a turn when these two men are informed by the Earth-Watchers about the illegal hunters who kill sharks when they see twenty shark carcasses on the beach. The message in the book is useful for readers of all ages; that of preserving the sea creatures as they play an important role in balancing the environment. Children will learn more about ocean life, the planet we live on, and the environmental hazards we are facing now.

The illustrations are vibrant and colorful and complement the story beautifully. Readers get to know the names of many sea creatures and how they look through the pictures in the book. The book is a good bedtime storybook and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. An excellent educational and informative book for young readers with a good message.
