Seasons of Change by Brooke Jameson offers beautiful insights into the complexities of relationships and the similarities shared with the changing seasons in nature. Winter is personified as a withdrawn person who has difficulty expressing emotions. Summer is portrayed as carefree yet prone to overextend himself. These two very distinct personalities must learn how to live and thrive together throughout life. Winter struggles to feel seen and heard, while Summer enjoys attention and praise. Like each of the seasons, Winter and Summer possess their beauty as well as quirks that make them interesting. The lessons Winter and Summer learn about compassion, empathy, and compromise can be applied to readers of all ages. Lovely and colorful illustrations highlight the contrasting seasons and differences in human nature.

Seasons of Change brings the seasons of winter and summer to life while conveying a meaningful message about the importance of understanding one another and the value found in bringing out the best in others. Brooke Jameson demonstrates creatively how Winter must feel isolated and lonely while Summer is easygoing and lighthearted. Young readers will be captivated as they follow along with the journey that these two seasons undertake. Families will enjoy reading this original story together as it will spark discussions about celebrating everyone’s special qualities while respecting other’s strengths and challenges.
