Seasons of the Soul is a collection of philosophical poetry by Nidhi Kaur. It has many eloquent, often short poems that show the relationship between a woman seeking love and a beloved she longs for, and can also be used to describe a deeper search for peace and meaning in the stages of life. The book summarizes four “seasons” or life stages in the love journey and these four seasons are examined through intricate sets of poems paired with pictures, predominantly of leaves and flowers, to create a strong sensory experience. The seasons—Season of Longing; Season of Remembrance; Season of Love; and Season of Enlightenment—take the narrator and reader through a life journey of finding love.

The poetical quality of Seasons of the Soul is delicate and gentle. The broader spiritual growth that can be applied to this cascading waterfall of poems gives them a lot of depth and Nidhi Kaur’s writing merits close attention for the quiet elegance that is structured into each set of poems and images. While many poetry books use images effectively, few do so with as much skill as this one because the pictures act as little verses of their own, accompanied by individual longer poems or by tiny, brief verbal fragments strung along together to create a sophisticated experience. The comparison of the growth of love to the life cycle of a flower as it sprouts, buds, and blooms is carried through the whole book with strength and energy, and there are touches of beautiful lyricism, as in the lovely verse “I have translated all of your silence into poetry.” Seasons of the Soul is a good expression of the inner spirit of a life that is continually growing.

Seasons of the Soul is a work of collected poetry, images and sketches penned by author Nidhi Kaur. Written on the theme of mystical love poetry, the work has a general spiritual theme that transcends simple emotions and explores the concepts of love and bliss from a more ethereal level. Written with a full range of emotions from love and passion to heartache, peace and reflection, one of the most unusual additions to the poetry collection comes in its visual presentation, as some of the poems are penned on the petals of flowers. These handwritten and photographic representations accompany enticing visual layouts for the poems.

One of the things that really gel this wonderful collection together is the way in which is it organized and its visual presentation. As the title suggests, the work is separated into emotional ‘seasons’ that take readers through the different themes of the work, inviting readers to join author Nidhi Kaur on a rollercoaster journey of ethereal passions and celestial exploration. The poetic layout is highly visually appealing, making this a book that’s hard to put down once it has been opened. The sentiment within each of the lines evokes really impressive emotional responses which will stick with you long after the reading experience is over. What results is a delightful collection that you can delve into again and again, with high-quality presentation and real emotions from the heart. Overall, Seasons of the Soul comes highly recommended for poetry fans seeking an uplifting experience.

Seasons of the Soul by Nidhi Kaur has a beautiful cover image with a title that immediately intrigued me. As I opened the book and began to read, I found an artful collection of poems that was not only well written but also clearly written directly from the heart. My favorite poem was “The Revelation” as I felt like the poem really struck a chord with me. The poem spoke about how truth can never be hidden and will always be revealed, how nothing is truly impossible, and how magic occurs everywhere. I loved how the collection was filled not just with beautiful words, but also images to match. The way the author incorporated the words of some of the poems into the images made for a visually appealing collection that kept me engrossed. Overall, I really enjoyed this collection of poetry and I hope to read more from this author in the future!

Seasons reflect different aspects of time in space. Just like the four seasons represent how we experience different stages from Spring (birth), Summer (youth) and Fall (adulthood) to Winter (old age and death), Seasons of the Soul by Nidhi Kaur does the same as it touches on emotions. This collection displays the various emotions that we experience in a different season of life. Readers' senses will be stimulated and awakened by the intensity of emotions - from love, aloneness and passion to ecstasy - as the author reflects in a poem longing for a beloved. You too will feel all the highs and lows that the author feels as you travel through each page, visually see the words written on rose and flower petals which enhance your passion, and discover yourself as you get in touch with your own emotions. To fully embrace all the richness this book has to offer, let your soul be wide and free. Allow each word on the pages to speak to your heart.

I enjoyed the flow of this book for several reasons but the main two were the fluidity of the messages that the poems displayed and the ebb and flow of the emotions of how the book made me feel. I read this book sitting on my deck on a rainy day and I felt a range of sensations from melancholy to laughter. Several of these poems touched me in a special way with words that I could not have spoken myself, in ways that my heart was trying to express itself. In poems such as And I Decided to Live, When I See You Again, Fear Lost All Meaning and Love Will Find a Way, the reader's soul is stimulated and enticed to want more. The reader will feel how each poem reflects the four seasons in their own lives and speaks to their needs. You can't go wrong with love but you can love the wrong person. Love is essential. Love is truth. Love is honor. Love is to be experienced. Get a copy of this book today and feel the love. Enjoy!
