Convinced she was born to be an artist, Brenda never took her love of writing seriously. And then one day, sometime after college, after marrying a man doing a stint in the army and after the birth of her son, she found more satisfaction filling a blank page with words than an empty canvas with color. After publishing several short stories, she turned to writing novels. Regardless of the length of her story, the characters drive her forward, taking her on their journey of discovery and love.
Brenda and her husband are gypsies at heart having lived in six states and two countries. Recently, they moved to prairie country in Arizona and are enjoying the wide-open spaces while tending fruit trees and veggie gardens. They share their space with their dog, Rusty. When Brenda isn’t at her laptop writing, she enjoys hiking, motorcycle riding and the company of good friends.

Sandra thinks that her future is wrapped up in Wesley. That is until he asks her to be his personal assistant. Wesley's tenant Eva tries to warn Sandra away from Wesley, and Sandra begins to think that Eva is stalking her. Then Sandra's ex Carson comes to town and her feelings for him become all confused. Meanwhile, her sister Abby's marriage hits a rocky place, and Sandra wants to help her sister through it. The true reason for Carson’s appearance, a mysterious secret admirer and Eva throw Sandra on a path of dangerous surprises.
"Sleeping with the Lights On" has lots of quirky characters: Wesley the rich sort of boyfriend, his tenant Eva and his ex-girlfriend Azalea each lends a new facet to the storyline. It was fun watching Sandra and Carson’s relationship develop. "Sleeping with the Lights On" is a wild ride that fans of romance will want to take.
