Author Biography

Dr. Ayarovu is currently residing in Miami, FL, where she hopes to build STAZR Universe into a multi-media platform. Her love of sailing brought her to the coast and falling in love with her husband kept her firmly in place. She previously spent time as a creative photographer, where she gained inspiration for her debut epic fantasy novel STAZR The World Of Z: The Dawn Of Athir. Dr. Ayarovu found herself writing backstories for her photoshoots based on societal roles and expectations; those short stories made up the very first draft of what this novel is today. She holds a love for the way society works with and through one another and has strategically sculpted the characters to reflect the way current day society plays off shared issues and ideas.

STAZR The World of Z is the first book in The Dawn of Athir series by Dr. Anay Ayarovu, and it is an epic fantasy that features Lael, the unusual protagonist who finds himself caught up in a mystery that is about to blow his mind. Lael is an aspiring author. In fact, he has written some short stories and is now contemplating his next big book, a novel that he thinks will become a masterpiece. But how he finds himself at the center of a prophecy is what makes things even more exciting. He lives in a world where class distinction is very strong and where the ruling class takes advantage of those they lord over. Someone has stumbled upon a prophecy from beyond the Roum. The message contains the coordinates of Lael’s residence, which is how he gets embroiled in unraveling the prophecy.

This novel is filled with humor. The narrative voice in the first person captures the sentiments and worldview of Lael in an absorbing manner. When readers encounter the protagonist, they get the impression of someone who is full of himself, confident, and even vain in his knowledge, but from the moment that the shwine messenger delivers a message to him, his world is turned upside-down. He has to put his feet on the ground and shun the delights of reveling in books to avoid the crude realities of life. The adventure is wonderful and the story suspenseful. The reader will want to know what happens to Lael’s world and if the strong and privileged class can use him to acquire a power that has been hidden for ages. It is his transformation and growth that intrigued me. STAZR The World of Z is transporting, featuring well-developed and interesting characters, and is a world that has its unique rules and language.

STAZR: The World of Z is the first book in The Dawn of Athir by Dr. Anay Ayarovu and is a beautifully written epic fantasy. It is original and set in an exotic, imaginary world that lives by its unique rules and culture. The narrator is a young and aspiring author called Lael, who spends his days buried in books. He has written some short stories and is dreaming of writing a novel, a work that he thinks will be significant. So, he spends a lot of time on it. But everything changes with the unlikely visit of a “pot-bellied piggy,” allegedly sent by the Sy-Rak family. A prophecy has been revealed from beyond the Roum, claiming that there is some sort of “Stazr Fabulist capable of re-opening the gates sealed by the Greats millennia ago.” The coordinates indicate his location as that of the Chosen One. Thus begins an adventure that will test everything he ever knows. It’s an epic journey that opens doors to worlds unknown and to a power that has been hidden for millennia.

Adventure, magic, and tales of legend are all woven into this story. It is told in an engrossing first-person narrative voice that is captivating. It is hugely imaginative and the author creates a unique world and a unique language that befits it. Readers will learn the way things are said in this world. The game of power is ingeniously explored and readers want to know if the crafty ruling families will harness the power of the legend for themselves. Lael is an interesting character who is richly developed; he is opinionated, thinks highly of himself, but once entrusted with a unique mission, he begins to learn that there is far more to learn than what he’s learned from reading books. The author’s unique phraseology and creativity grabbed my attention from the very beginning of the story. The narrative voice is irresistible, filled with satire and humor. STAZR: The World of Z by Dr. Anay Ayarovu is a gorgeous offering for fans of epic fantasy.

STAZR the World of Z – Series 1: The Dawn of Athir by Dr. Anay Ayarovu is an epic fantasy in which a man thinks he knows everything, but time will teach him how wrong he is. Ratadat Lael is a writer and he knew that he was destined to be something incredible, but he thought all his adventures were going to be literary. He had no idea that his life was going to be a part of an adventure so big that he would be scrambling to make sense of it all. One day, he was out and about as usual when he was approached by a shwine who said it was sent by Sy-Rak family of Treebarad and they had something important to tell him. Skeptical yet intrigued, he learned about a prophecy that will change his life and the lives of people of Starz forever. He now has the chance to be a hero just like his characters. The only problem is, is he worthy of being a hero?

I enjoyed the narrative of STAZR the World of Z – Series 1: The Dawn of Athir by Dr. Anay Ayarovu. It was in the first person, but it was unique. Lael talks to the reader, sharing his story and setting the foundation for future novels in the series. The whole novel read like a conversation between friends, a dark tale of survival and understanding complex ideas. Dr. Anay Ayarovu sets just the right tone for the sequels with Lael as the driver; he is the voice of reason and the voice of temptation. Lael learns to trust himself yet at the same time, he isn’t sure he is good enough for the future he has. The world-building is phenomenal, the actual storyline is cohesive and nothing feels impulsive at all. This is a solid start to an incredible story. You will already have an affiliation with the protagonist, you will already have strong emotions for the cause and you will be rooting for Lael until the very end. Entertaining and complex in the best way possible.

In STAZR The World Of Z by Dr. Anay Ayarovu, Ratadat Lael lives as a recluse in Starz. He has been experiencing lucid dreams since the age of 5 but is unaware of their meaning. When a shwine messenger called Slap arrives to inform him he is The Chosen One and the only person who can save the Star people, he cannot resist the challenge. Lael and Slap must make the perilous journey to Treebarad where he will receive further instructions. Lael has to overcome many dangers before he can reach his destination, such as mutated mice, Dust Snatchers, and creatures who love to tear limbs from their victims. Once he arrives with the help of his colorful guides, Lael realizes this is just the beginning of his quest. The next stage is even more dangerous and, until now, no-one has managed to survive.

STAZR The World Of Z by Dr. Anay Ayarovu is such an engaging read and full of amazing, unforgettable creatures. The author's ability to bring every character and situation to life is incredible. Everything is described in such detail that the story leaps off the page and draws you into their worlds. I loved Lael, his complete arrogance and gullibility made him very comical. His relationship with Slap was superb as were his interactions with everyone he came into contact with. I thought his journey of self-discovery about his past and beliefs really added depth to the story. There are some excellent areas of conflict and tension throughout. The plot was interesting and never failed to keep me engaged. I was thankful that the author placed footnotes to explain certain words, as it made the entire reading process much more enjoyable. I will not spoil the ending but the search for the nine items did not disappoint. If you love novels with out of this world characters, placed in the most bizarre situations, then this is the perfect book for you.

STAZR The World of Z: The Dawn Of Athir is a work of dark and conceptual fantasy fiction penned by author Dr. Anay Ayarovu. Written for adult audiences due to scenes that contain sexual situations and descriptions of graphic violence, this mystical world engulfs readers with high levels of atmosphere and some sudden shocking moments. The central protagonist is Lael, an introvert with a love for books and ideas. Lael doesn’t realize his own naivety in the world he’s created for himself and his aspirations as a writer, so when a prophecy relates the location of the Chosen One and Lael must become the savior of the Star People, a complex journey of enlightenment and growth begins.

Author Dr. Anay Ayarovu has crafted an intelligent work of fantasy fiction that intermingles its real-world social commentary really well with a far-flung plot from the depths of space itself. Mixing genres of fantasy, science fiction, horror and interpersonal drama, the balance results in a darkly entertaining story with sudden moments of tension and fear, which is highly effective against the foil of the incredibly naïve and sometimes unlikeable protagonist Lael. Growing to view Lael as an effective savior is part of the true fun of the book itself, for his close-mindedness from his world of booksmarts is his own sword to fall on from the start, and things bring high appeal for intelligent readers who recognize the standard tropes of fantasy being subverted so well. Overall, STAZR The World of Z: The Dawn Of Athir is well worth a read for such fans.
