The Abyss of Bliss is the story of a girl who was never looking for love. Amira has suffered in her young life and, as a result, is not willing to let others in. When one young man does manage to find his way in, however, it changes her life forever. Rahul is not the man she would ever have expected to love but, at the same time, he is everything she could ever expect to love in a man. He is kind and gentle but willing to stand up against the wrongs of the world. Even when Amira finds herself battling impossible odds, it is her love for him that keeps her going and keeps her strong.
Basant Raj has woven a story of how love overcomes all obstacles and survives all tragedy. There is nothing that can come between two people who love each other and even time and distance will not take away that love. For Amira and Rahul, it is their religion that will not be allowed to come between them; and the will of another young man in town who has his eye and his heart set on Amira. The Abyss of Bliss is a beautifully written tale of triumph over adversity and the brilliance of a first love. We can all remember what it’s like to be in love and for Amira and Rahul, even though there are differences between them, that feeling is no different. It’s a love that will transcend the danger and the difficulty of their lives forever.
