The Body In The Basement is the latest book by Katherine Page in her Faith Fairchild “The Body In The … Series”. This being the first book I have read in the series, I found the main character to be instead of Faith a woman named Pix, a friend of Faith Fairchild. The story line takes place on Sanpere Island, a summer getaway. Everyone knows everybody in the area. When Pix and her daughter arrive the first thing on her agenda was to check and see how Faith's new summer getaway home is coming along. That’s where Pix and her dog uncover a body buried wrapped in an antique quilt. Using a clue on the quilt Pix began her investigation. When a second body is found, wrapped in another antique quilt Pix figured the two were connected. She was determined to solve the mystery.

There are strange happenings on the island and some good down home family fun. Pix remind me of the all American woman, one who cannot say no to anything. I enjoyed this book. The plot seemed to drag in a few spots but picked up the pace again. The characters were very likable. I would like to read the other books in this series.
