The Boy Who Saved the Moon is a heartwarming children's picture book written by Dennis DeRobertis with illustrations by Jessica Warrick. The story follows Frankie, a young boy who talks to his sick father every night before he goes to sleep. Although he feels worried and helpless about his father's situation, in his dreams, Frankie imagines himself as a brave warrior who is determined to save the moon from any danger. Every night he goes into battle mode, fighting aliens, helping scientists with robots to rescue the moon, and defeating an evil dragon that wants to eat the moon. Join Frankie as he uses his imagination to understand his father's illness and does his best to help him fight it.

The Boy Who Saved the Moon is a touching children's story that explores themes of imagination, courage, and coping with difficult emotions. Frankie's nightly adventures cleverly mirror his own real-life struggles with his father's illness, illustrating how imagination can be a powerful tool for understanding and dealing with difficult situations. Dennis DeRobertis has crafted a heartwarming and engaging story that will resonate with young readers and their families, giving parents a platform to open up to their children about difficult issues. In addition to the incredible premise and message, the story is also told through colorful illustrations that bring each scene to life. The joy on Frankie's face every time he saves the moon is infectious and wonderful to witness. I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend sharing it with your children to teach them to be brave and optimistic.
