Ian Lewis’s The Camaro Murders is a distinctive supernatural thriller. This is the story of a small town’s murders from multiple perspectives and times. You see the perspective of a sheriff and the people who have died. The book is divided into multiple sections (not chapters) by dates, each of which narrates, in the first person, what happened on that particular date. On each of those dates, the book details how someone was killed (including up to their dying moments), the investigation of those killed, and even the afterlife of the deceased. The reader is immersed in a deep world of crime, murder, and the afterlife from multiple viewpoints.

Ian Lewis provides an unorthodox way of presenting a thriller – you see it from different characters' perspectives, across different times and even different worlds. This is similar to the movie 11:14 but in a more dramatic sense. Similar to that movie, the author does a great job of showing seemingly unconnected events across different periods (in Lewis’s case, larger timeframes than that movie). As The Camaro Murders progresses, you see these events converge. In addition to the events that comprise the overall plot, Lewis goes into detail about who each of these characters is – their desires, dreams, and thought processes, such that you, the reader, feel at one with each character, whether they are good or bad. The writing offers a great buildup of suspense, and you will want to read the rest of the series as each book comes out.
