The Palm-Sized Sky Written by Mr. Sun is a children’s book based on a Chinese fable. Jerry is introduced as a frog that lives alone in a well. He enjoys his life and his home until one day an unexpected visitor arrives. The visitor's name is Anna and she has lots to tell Jerry about the world, but with Jerry being not so smart, he doesn't believe anything Anna tells him. What exactly does Anna tell him? And will he ever believe her?

The Palm-Sized Sky is a story for children. Not only did I find that the story flows nicely, but it also rhymes to keep the young reader interested. The rhymes make it easy to read as well as making it clear that there is a deeper message behind the story, and this is where I found it to be educational. It is an uplifting story that will surely inspire the reader to be just like the character Jerry. Reading this book will easily teach your child about the different emotions we all experience in life and help them to understand each one by remembering the colors assigned to them by Mr. Sun. For a children’s book I would say it is an all-rounder in terms of it being fun to read and educational, it has been smartly written and your child will most definitely enjoy reading it themselves or having it read to them. I was extremely impressed by Mr. Sun and I hope to read more of his amazing work. I recommend The Palm-Sized Sky to young readers everywhere.

How do colors make you feel? In The Palm-Sized Sky by Mr. Sun, we meet a frog named Jerry who has lived in a well his entire life. He believes there are only four colors in the world; black, sky blue, dark gray, and darker gray. Then one day a rock falls into his well and changes his world. It happens to be a talking rock named Anna. She shares with him that there is a big wide world full of colors outside his well. Jerry does not believe her but is willing to listen. Anna has him close his eyes and imagine how the colors make him feel. The blue sky that he knows feels calming, being mad makes him see red, and yellow gives him a warm happy feeling. There is one color she cannot quite describe - green. After Anna leaves, Jerry’s life returns to normal until he decides to venture out of the well and discover the colors for himself!

Mr. Sun has written a fun little fable about colors in The Palm-Sized Sky. Kids and adults will be able to join in with Jerry and close their eyes to imagine how the colors make them feel. The two-line rhyming couplets have lots of white space around them, so it is perfect for an early reader. Without illustrations, kids are free to use their imaginations to picture Jerry, his well, and Anna the talking rock. The Palm-Sized Sky is a short gentle story that allows kids to slow down and use their imaginations. After reading it you might just be feeling yellow yourself!
