The Gathering Storm: Book 3 of The Paladin Chronicles is awesome. I like reading books that will become classics and Dr. Neil Port has created one here. This is the third book in an ongoing series. I can't wait to go back and read the first two but this one is a complete part of the tale and if it is the one you happen to come across first then go ahead and read it.

Dr. Neil Port has created a world and history that is close enough to our own that you see a lot of familiar characters and events but he has thrown in Magic and Elves so the history deviates enough to keep you surprised. There are a lot of interesting characters to love and hate. I found myself staying up late into the middle of the night to see what would happen next to Jacinta and the group of abused women she takes in that will be known as Amazons.

The details of ancient life, the complex system of magic, and the complicated characters are three of the things that stand out the most in The Gathering Storm: Book 3 of the Paladin Chronicles. This series is on a par with J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of The Rings in its depiction of an ancient world in eminent peril from the forces of evil and I do not make such a comparison lightly. If you love Fantasy and are looking for an epic series you should remember this name: Dr. Neil Port.

The Gathering Storm: Book 3 of The Paladin Chronicles by Dr. Neil Port brings us back into the world of danger and intrigue where Jacinta has been badly injured in a fight with Daimon. While she wants to be a warrior and has long dreamed of it, she may have to give it up even though a group of young women need her help. It seems that the elves and their allies are in a period of peace, but that is an illusion. Soon the Hun will be upon the last of the elves in hordes and what will happen then? War will happen; war from all sides; a war they can't possibly hope to win.

This is truly an epic story, both in the size of the book and the size of the characters and what they must overcome within. I can't imagine what Jacinta or any of the other characters were feeling during the events that transpired. Let me tell you, reading friends, this book will take you up and down and you will feel a great deal of emotion as you read. Every page was compelling and I never felt like anything was lagging behind. You can tell that Dr. Neil Port puts blood, sweat and tears into every word written and the world he has created is truly unique and enjoyable. I would not hesitate for even a moment to recommend this book to any of my friends who love to read. A triumph of a fantasy read.

The Gathering Storm is undeniably the best work Neil Port has written. It just gets better and better. His writing style seems to add spice to every book.

The Gathering Storm is an historical epic fantasy novel spiced up with Magic and the Fay Folk of Elves that kept me amazed as I journeyed with the well developed characters through a world of wonder. Once again I find myself reading this awesome novel until the wee hours of the morning. Dr. Neil Port surely enticed me with his interesting characters and scenarios, therefore I just kept reading right to the end.

I found myself loving to hate some of the characters as I became emotionally involved without even realizing it. Dr. Neil Port has a distinctive writing style that grasped my attention from the first page, kept me entangled throughout this historical yet intriguing journey as I traveled through the mosaic practice of magic, its enthralling characters and a life more ancient than old.

The Gathering Storm by Dr. Neil Port enticed my soul as it accepted this roller coaster ride of enjoyable emotion as I traveled this amazing magical odyssey with each eccentric figure. This is undeniably the next Lord of the Rings!
