The Inconvenient Widow (Situations of Inconvenience) by Jennifer Reinoehl is a love story, a historical fiction, and a Christian-based book with a great story to tell. It is 1739 in Whitchurch, Hampshire, England, and Emily is at an inn awaiting her new employers, who never show up, ready to become their governess. Emily comes from a well-bred family that has become down on their luck. Marcus is also at the inn with his dying friend, Lord Westings. Emily needs a way to survive her new life and Lord Westings needs a bride to protect his money and land from his gambling brother. They marry and a few days later Lord Westings dies. Emily becomes responsible for the running of the estate and Marcus becomes her friend and protector. Emily is kept busy and Marcus does all he can to help. The two begin to fall in love, but both have a hard time recognizing the signs and knowing what to do about it until Emily is in danger and Marcus becomes her hero and rescues her.

Jennifer Reinoehl has written the first of the Situations of Inconvenience series and I can’t wait for the next book. The Inconvenient Widow had a warm feel and took me back to a time in history when chivalry was alive, good manners counted, and a woman was treated like a lady. I neglected my chores to read just a few more pages whenever I could sneak off. The good guys made me feel warm and fuzzy and the bad guys made me want to see that they got the punishment they deserved. This is a must-read book for fans of romance and adventure, and historical fiction book lovers. The Inconvenient Widow is a super-plus winner.
