THE Kitty G8 book loved it We have fur babies everything Shawn has stated is true. Unconditional love is the best, I'm a person who thought cats had no emotion but we adopted Roxanne 13 yrs. ago that all has changed Cats are wonderful I love mine so much Shawn has written a warm loving
tribute to his fur family and YES THEY DO SAVE YOU.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I guess I could relate because when I got my first cat, I had no idea how he could steal my heart. It had very touching parts in it about the love they shared. If you love cats, I know you will love this book. It is a small book which is good because I am not much of a reader but I could not put this book down. I can't wait until Shawn Flynn writes more so I can read them. Highly recommended read.

This is the very sweet story of Shawn and the (first) stray cat he adopted, Kitty. And, as is so often the case, Shawn rescued Kitty... and Kitty rescued Shawn right back. Highly recommended.

I received the book as a gift from a friend who knows the author. It's a nice short story about a first time cat owner learning the nuances of the feline mind while also becoming more clear about his own desires.

I loved this book! As a person who has rescued 5 cats over the years, I fully understand the author's feelings towards Kitty. The author obviously understands the inner workings of the feline mind. I spent my entire professional career as a librarian and I know a good book when I see one. This book was written in an easy, flowing style. I highly recommend it to all cat and pet lovers.

I had been planning to read Shawn's The Kitty for some time now but had never gotten around to it. Being a cat lover myself (fanatic!) it almost shames me that I took so long to read this book. From the title, I was not sure what to expect, but I had a hunch I would connect with this story.

And connect I did.

Shawn's story will strike hard at the soul of any cat lover who reads it. It's very simply written, and openly honest. Shawn holds nothing back in telling the story of how he rescued Kitty, and how Kitty then returned the favor by comforting him through difficult times.

So many people take pets for granted, both dogs and cats. I am particularly pleased that Shawn's work helps to completely shoot down the myth that cats are not loyal and not loving. What he and Kitty shared was pure love. There is no denying that.

This book is a must for any cat lover. They will understand it, feel it, and I personally feel close to Shawn after reading this book, because I've been there. All my cats have done the same for me that Kitty did for Shawn. I just never had the brains to write a book about it.

I sit here writing this review with Macy on my desk, herself a 16 year old rescue who played a similar role as Kitty, the star of The Kitty: Who Rescued Me After I Rescued Him. We've all been there. We let a furry critter in our life as a pet only to realize that this "pet" transitions into a much loved and cherished part of the family. This is the essence of the Kitty, which is a story of Shawn's finding an orange Maine Coon already living at a home he has purchased. As Kitty stays around, Shawn discovers Kitty is becoming his best friend, standing by his side through many of life's challenges, including a painful divorce. The author does a great job of showing just how much Kitty meant to him. The most powerful and poignant parts of the book for me details how Shawn took care of Kitty as he reached the later parts of his life. Kitty even inspired Shawn to rescue three other cats that all formed part of the family. But it is Shawn's relationship with Kitty that takes center stage. The book is short and you can probably finish it within the course of an evening. My only wish for this book is that it had been a bit longer but it is a great story. I needed a book to show me good in the world after reading some heavy and depressing books. This book, about the impact a cat made on one man's life, is exactly what I needed. It is a heart warming book that will make you smile.

If you have ever experienced that deep,unconditional, never wavering love of a cat you will thoroughly enjoy reading this book. The bond that developed between Shawn and Kitty and the love and the respect they had for each other is heartwarming. How much Kitty effected Shawn's life in such a positive way is uplifting. I had the privilege of meeting Shawn recently at the cat show in Auburn Ma. What a lovely, personable man. And his book, is well worth the read. You can clearly see his love for Kitty, and how Kitty became such a part of his life. It's an Everyman story, only about cats. Shawn's life story is interwoven, very skillfully with Kitty's. In fact originally Shawn wrote down the story for himself, and it was so popular with his family and friends that he decided to publish it. As a life long cat lover, I felt that Shawn had written MY story. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed!!!

I loved how u took cared of the cats and been a animal lover. The last chapter hit with emotion bc I also have a cat that is 18 years old and his name is Smokey but I also call him kitty so when ur cat had pasted away made me cry bc my cat and I have a strong bond like u and ur cats. I am 14 years old and loved the book. Have a question for u tho. How is sqeaker and gypsy doing if u still have them?

Had the pleasure of meeting Shawn at The Garden State Cat Club Show/Expo last month. Finally got a chance to read his book & could not put it down once I began reading! With each turning of the page you get more engrossed in the tale of Shawn and Kitty and need to know more. As Flynn describes his truly unexpected discovery of the unconditional love of a pet and our human connection, this candid writing of his own circumstances is validating on so many levels.
