Sandra spends her days working as a hostess and salesperson for a jewelry gallery nearby. Her nights, however, are spent actually designing jewelry. Her first piece ever is even on display, until a nasty jolt from her past comes crashing back into her life. Jewel thief Derrick Dane nearly ruined Sandra's life five years ago by attempting to frame her for all of his heists and robberies. Now she's working for the police to bait Derrick into a trap so that she can get her stolen piece back and clear her name once and for all. With the help of one sexy cop and one grandfather cop and a monstrous dog named Beastie, Sandra might just come out on top after all. The Love Thief by Daisy Jerico is a fun and fabulous new romp in the realm of Contemporary Romance.

While there wasn't a whole lot of depth to the story, it was a super cute and entertaining read. You hate all the right people, love all the right people, and the plot pushes just the right buttons. This is the cutesy kind of read that you use to get away from the hum-drum of the kids and school routine, and it just works. Daisy Jerico has an easily flowing writing style that manages to both tell the story and give a solid air of humor and lightness. It was a really refreshing read and is a highly enjoyable story. Almost reminded me of the Heist Society series, so it would be good for fans of that series and genre as well.

Shaken from sleep in the middle of the night, the gallery where Sandra works has been broken into. After running the two blocks to the shop, she can’t believe it’s happening a second time. Another jewel heist and the authorities are pointing the finger at her once again. To clear her name she agrees to work with Detective Hargrave and Alex Daniels from the police department.
Even though Alex is drop dead gorgeous, he’s a jerk. Sandra learns that just like her ex-boyfriend, Derrick, who got her involved in the first job, Alex is a former jewel thief. Alex wants to clear his name, too, but Sandra wants the pendant she created and she knows Derrick stole it from her employer.
With the help of an enormous dog who is overprotective but loveable, Alex and Sandra lure Derrick into a trap, but things don’t turn out as they expected and Sandra must decide what is really important.
I enjoyed this delightful story and especially loved the dog, Viking. I read it almost entirely in one sitting and the jewel height at the beginning and the well thought out ending keep you on the edge of your seat.
