Real love is something very few get to experience in life, and after losing his love, Hugo can’t see himself moving on. The Neighborhood Witch by Christopher M. Mason follows the tale of Hugo Dodds, a man who lost his wife to cancer, and his odd new neighbor, Alice. Hugo had no intention of ever trying to find love again, but when his newfound friendship with his neighbor Alice starts to develop into something deeper, he finds himself at odds with his emotions. Alice, who also hasn’t had the best experience with love, slowly falls for her kind but slightly broken neighbor. Can they make things work despite the odds and the fact that Alice happens to be a witch?

The Neighborhood Witch by Christopher M. Mason was such a fun-loving and enjoyable book. I loved everything about the slow-burn relationship between Hugo and Alice. Even though they each had reasons for not wanting to fall in love again, they began to feel drawn to each other after bonding. What I loved the most though was how Alice allowed Hugo time to grieve the loss of his wife and never tried to replace her in any way. Their relationship was forged through friendship, shared interests, and respect. Mason did a wonderful job with the world-building, and I love how every scene is perfectly described with just the right amount of detail. The Neighborhood Witch was so enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend it.
