Renee moved to Hollywood with aspirations of being an actress. When her mother is killed in a car accident, the inheritance sends Renee to the land of opportunity and she enters a beauty school in Burbank. A backup career is what she called it…just until she could get on her feet in show business.

She becomes entwined with Cyrus, a pusher and pimp who captures her with heroin and will not let her go. In the midst of an overdose, facedown in an alley, she decides to escape. Cyrus and his thugs are after her. She is saved by a passerby who hits her as she runs across the street.

She thinks she is saved but is she? A year passes, locked down and under the guise of his “care”, when he doesn’t come home after a trip does her world really start to unravel. She becomes involved with a Bosnian priest who has a hidden agenda and from there, the spiral continues downward. His vendetta introduces Renee to a brand new high. One that surpasses anything that drugs did for her in the past.

This is a very dark storyline that some probably will not get into but I personally found it to be quite suspenseful, twisting in a downward spiral to a point of evil that is nearly unfathomable. This story is wound so tight that there is simply no stopping point until you know what happens last! I reviewed this as an audio book and would highly recommend it to anybody who likes a blood pumping, eye popping tale!
