The Responsible Entrepreneur: Four Game-Changing Archetypes for Founders, Leaders, and Impact Investors by Carol Sanford defines the framework for organizations to leverage change to manifest concepts into reality. Divided into four insightful parts, Sanford explores four archetypes: Warrior, Clown, Hunter and Headman for leaders to cultivate change at all levels. Drawn from her own Mohawk heritage, the ideas presented are fresh and supported by examples of the work of Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey and Larry Page. Rapid changes in the world economy have ceased business as usual, requiring a new approach. Innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and goodwill can lead to a prosperous future if people are empowered for dynamic, interconnected transformation. Sanford lays out responsible business development, value-adding processes, and framework pillars for a higher order. Theories are carefully detailed and supported by real stories of friends, colleagues and clients. Since businesses can influence how society functions, the frameworks can help leverage the adjustments to take a strong organization into the next millennium. The different levels of domain and archetypes put into action the revolution required to influence a mission.

The only thing left to do after reading The Responsible Entrepreneur: Four Game-Changing Archetypes for Founders, Leaders, and Impact Investors by Carol Sanford is to find a community to try it on. Anyone who works with others in a group, whether in business or not, can benefit from the key thesis of this handy guide. The other benefit to reading this book is that it can be used to define other people’s roles. For instance, I determined which archetype best fits my boss and that has helped me to understand how he thinks, his goals and motivations. All of which has helped me be a better support system to him.
