The Restless Rock is a children’s picture book written by JM Voors with illustrations by Jessica Chrysler. It follows the story of a rock that has become bored with sitting still in the same place. He sees other animals walking and flying, moving from one place to another, and wishes to be like them. One day, animals started moving past him in panic, and the ground started shaking. It turned out to be an earthquake, which caused him to move from his location. His wish had come true, and he had begun his adventure, but what happens next teaches him a vital lesson about being himself and being thankful for what he has.

The Restless Rock is an engaging story with an important message and a relatable character. We all have experienced moments where we wish for things we don't need or desire to do things that can harm us. Similarly, some people try to change themselves to fit in with others. Children are no exception to this as they are always curious and often unaware of the dangers they might encounter. JM Voors does a great job of making the reader empathize with the rock, who took his original home's beautiful view and pleasant environment for granted. He later regretted not appreciating it. This book is well-written and enjoyable. With simple words and a cheerful tone, it will appeal to young readers. The illustrations are an excellent addition as they provide a visual narration of the story. I highly recommend this book to both children and adults as its message is universal.
