A dark family secret, an ancient artifact, and the advent of the anti-Christ. What if the power of the Catholic Church could fall into the wrong hands? In The Serpent's Disciple by Deborah Stevens, Peter Romanus, the diabolical leader of the secret masonic order known as Propaganda Due, plans to assassinate the pope, take control of the Vatican, and use its power to control the powerful governments of the world. Only an ancient artifact and a family’s secret linked to Saint Anthony can save the Church and humankind. Anthony and Nelli Andruccioli know that they have very little time to outwit the cunning Grand Master and unveil the truth. Watch as they race to uncover the truth, facing incredible dangers and navigating complex layers of politics and unforeseeable traps. Can they beat Peter Romanus in the race?

The Serpent's Disciple by Deborah Stevens is a thriller that will appeal to fans of Dan Brown. It’s a story that explores the themes of the fight between Good and Evil, the perils of power, and the mysteries of life and redemption. The memorable cast of characters, with well-defined and solid backgrounds, will entice and delight readers. This is a thriller that shows the author’s creative mind and wonderful imagination. Deborah Stevens’ writing is tight, laced with riveting passages that are insightful and that explore the depths of the hearts of the characters. I enjoyed the conflict and the urgency with which the characters are compelled to act. This is one of those books written with a ticking bomb; action-loaded, and utterly entertaining.

There’s nothing I like better than a good mystery, and The Serpent’s Disciple is just that. Years ago, I fell in love with The Da Vinci Code and all those that followed. The Serpent’s Disciple is a great addition to that collection. Stevens knows the area and that shows. Her descriptions of the land, the architecture and most of all, the history, are what make this book so interesting. Her characters are well-developed and made me wanting more. I’m eager to read the sequel. Thank you, Deborah, for a great read.

Great premise, great plot line! I couldn't put this book down. The authors description of places in and around the city of Pesaro, Italy made you feel like you were there. The images, emotions and feelings of the characters came alive as they dealt with the unusual circumstances and challenges they were presented with as the plot developed. Reads extremely easily. Do yourself a favor. Buy it. Better yet, read it!

Great Book!!!
This was a great book! It's really hard to find good Catholic novels now days where the author actually knows the Faith and incorporates it throughout the book. This is one of the rate ones. I added it to my favorites. I can't wait for the author's next new book.

I don't give too many books 5 stars but this one kept my interest throughout . I found it's historic angle and description of modern Italy especially true to detail. I am anxiously waiting for the next installment.

Great book, an exciting page turner! Stevens has revealed an uncanny ability to weave an intriguing story of the struggle between good and evil facing a contemporary world and the catholic church. Part thriller, part travelogue as the characters journey and struggle on their conflicting paths through many towns, historical landmarks and spiritual sights of Italy. Well researched and developed.
