Author Biography

Ron is husband to Jen, and father to three silly boys and one sweet little girl. Ron is the award-winning author of "The Scariest Story You’ve Ever Heard," "This Book Is Perfect!," and "It’s Not That ‘Big A Deal'." All of his books are illustrated by the very talented and whimsical artist, Arthur Lin, from San Francisco.

“Life with kids is an amazing adventure—one I would not trade for the world. One of my favorite times of the day is when my kids snuggle up on my lap to read a few books before bed. I absolutely love how picture books capture their imagination, make them laugh out loud, and bond us closer together. To be able to provide those moments for other families with my own books has become one of my greatest joys in life.”

Ron was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago but his family currently lives in Northwest Ontario where they serve as missionaries.

In This Book is on Fire! author Ron Keres writes an imaginative story of Finn the Frog. Finn the Frog greets the reader and quickly learns the reader is very hungry. He then proclaims himself to be a fantastic chef who will whip up something delicious. He soon discovers this will be trickier than he expected. Finn the Frog knows how to cook many fancy dishes that have been passed down to him from his frog family. Unfortunately, the reader turns out to be quite a picky eater who turns up his nose at multiple choices, and the whole day just may end in disaster.

This story by Ron Keres is both cute and entertaining. Younger kids will find this book to be engaging since Finn the Frog is talking directly to them and they can interact throughout the story. Adults will enjoy reading the story to their children and watching as this helps develop a love of reading in the listener. The title alone, This Book is on Fire!, will certainly grab the attention of any child. The illustrations are well done and as humorous as the story itself. Children will laugh at Finn the Frog not having pants on when he turns around, the idea of meat being soaked in pond water, and Finn serving them dessert with flies on it. This book also comes with free downloadable coloring sheets, which both kids and their parents will love and would be a good reason to choose this book over a similar option.
