Wind Out of Time is a work of fiction in the science fiction and historical adventure subgenres. It is intended for the general reading audience and was penned by author Rhema Sayers. In this thrilling time travel story, the headstrong and highly capable FBI agent Andrea Schilling finds herself transported back in time during a terrorist chase. Surrounded by the inhabitants and servants of a 5th-century castle and a king named Ardur, Andrea sets about cementing a role in the king’s daily life for herself as she continues to search for both the terrorist and a way home. But will she get more than she bargained for as her presence begins to change the way of life and the people around her?

Author Rhema Sayers has crafted a fantastic work of thrilling science fiction with an excellent blend of historical culture clash. One feature that I especially enjoyed in this novel was its pacing, which maintains the thriller element of the plot and always has a new development hiding around the corner to keep things fresh. The work is well-layered to start off with some very intense action and Andrea’s sudden panic in her new surroundings, and from that, the transition into a new way of living and Andrea’s emotions, confidence, and capabilities under pressure truly begin to shine. I also felt that the dialogue struck a great balance between modern speech and Old English to maintain accessibility for readers. I would definitely recommend Wind Out of Time to time travel fans who want a bit of everything in their adventure.
