"You Dog: The Owner’s Manual" by Dr Marty Becker and Gina Spadafori, audio format osing the right dog for your lifestyle. If you are going to be gone a lot you do not need a dependent breed. If you live a sedentary life you do not need a dog that will require a lot of exercise. Some breeds do better on a farm than in an apartment. They also cover some very annoying behavior problems and offer ways to avoid such problems. Health, weight and teeth are also covered.

I am an animal lover. I have a Great Pyrenees that I dote on. She is a mere 10 months old and weighs approximately 80 pounds. I realize if you are reading this review you are likely to be a dog lover/owner also. That’s how I knew I could get by telling you about my Emmie. I was excited to receive this audio book. I have owned many pets and some were more challenging than others. My Emmie is very head strong and independent. She doesn’t like to take orders from my husband. She will follow him around the farm but she does not respect him. On the other hand, When I call she comes running. She is glad to see me and he has learned that jumping does not please me. I turned to Dr. Becker for assistance in raising a pleasant pet.

I recommend that all dog owners should listen or read this book before acquiring a pet. There are a lot of excellent books on the market containing information on being a dog owner. This one joins the ranks. I enjoyed the humorous anecdotes. It is obvious the authors are great pet lovers and enjoy their careers.
