Author Biography

I am an Air Force veteran who served between March 2005 - April 2017. I am a Finance Manger, Researcher and blogger. My journey as a writer started when my son was in second grade. He was tasked to write short stories for his English class. We would brainstorm together on what to write and we would come up with some really great stories. After the second short story we wrote, I realized we were pretty good at story telling, so I decided to write a book. This story came to mind after not seeing there were many books on self esteem and loving yourself. I believe if we can start building our children’s self esteem while they are young, we can raise confident children into confident healthy adults.

Allison, You Are Beautiful is a heartwarming children's picture book written by Erika Archer with illustrations by Delayna Robbins. The story follows Allison, a seven-year-old girl in second grade at Glenwood Elementary School, who loves having fun, drawing, and riding her bike. Unfortunately, while playing on the school playground, Allison is bullied for having freckles. The incident leaves her feeling sad, but with the support and affirmation of her mother, Allison cheers up and learns to value and embrace her appearance. The next day, even though she has doubts about going to school, Allison gains the confidence to face her peers and be optimistic about her day. Join Allison on her journey as she learns to love herself and embrace her uniqueness.

Allison, You Are Beautiful is a touching story that delivers a powerful message about self-love and acceptance. The story is told through colorful illustrations, and it conveys the importance of staying true to oneself, despite external criticisms. It also addresses the impact of bullying on children's self-esteem and encourages children to ask for forgiveness and be remorseful whenever they have done something wrong. Erika Archer does an excellent job of conveying these messages in a way that children can understand and relate to. Every child is unique and special, and reminding them of their individuality is crucial to nurturing their self-esteem and self-confidence, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. Encouraging children to be proud of who they are and embrace their differences allows them to grow into confident, resilient individuals who are unafraid to show their true selves to the world. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and highly recommend sharing it with your children.
