It had been two years since her husband's death. Part of her seemed to die along with him. Lynda realized it was time to reclaim her life, time live again. She compassionately assists a young woman through the crowd of protesters in front of an abortion clinic. Inside, she met Dr. Michael Cambron. The two seemed to have an instant connection.

Baby Steps is an enjoyable read; however, it falls short of teaching Christian values. I was disappointed in the sex before marriage theme and pro-choice theme. Putting aside, my personal believes; I liked this book.

I felt the characters were well-developed. Lynda was a multi-dimensional character. The relationship between Sean and his mother was refreshing. She related well to his friends. I would be comfortable with Lynda and would consider her a friend. I figured out "who done it" about two thirds of the way through the book. K.L. McLoughlin is a talented author; I look forward to reading more of her works.

I absolutely loved this very well written novel! I think Mc Loughlin is an amazing CANADIAN author! I read the entire book in one afternoon. The storyline caught my interest right from the start and I really enjoyed "getting to know" the characters. I also think the book offers a good perspective on some rather controversial issues. I would definitely recommend this great book!

Knowing the author personally, I was looking forward to purchasing and reading her first book. I wasn't disappointed. I think the author spun a wonderful tale of life, love, loss, and finding the strength do carry on. I'm looking forward to the next story from this author. :)
