Bogeyman – He was Every Parent’s Nightmare by Steve Jackson is a true story that will chill you to the bone. Steve Jackson describes in heartrending and dramatic terms the events that led to the arrest of David Elliott Penton, a vicious child killer. The case began with the disappearance of three small girls, girls that the killer abducted, raped and then killed after he stalked them. The killer chose his victims with care, only looking for girls who came from poorer families. Sometimes he went for Asian or black girls, ones he considered would never be missed by their families. Penton abducted them in broad daylight or stole them from their homes in the dead of night. For years, the cases sat, going cold as all leads dried up, until they were reopened as cold cases. Today’s latest technology allowed police officers to go further than ever before and make the arrest that would end the parents’ nightmares. To this day, the officers are still trying to link the perpetrator with other similar crimes against children.

Bogeyman – He was Every Parent’s Nightmare by Steve Jackson was a sad tale, a tale that should never have to be told. The way he put the book together was first class, the story was chillingly good and made for a good night’s reading. I am a fan of true murder stories and this was no letdown, meeting and indeed surpassing all my expectations. I urge anyone who still believes that all cops are bad to read this story and understand that there are some true blues out who never rest.
