Broken Hero by Doug Dorsey is the second book in The Never Alone Series. Erin Maddox is a prosecuting attorney and her biggest case is getting more complicated by the day. There is a new drug being made and the addictive nature is nothing like anyone has even seen before. She enlists the help of an unlikely duo to go undercover to bring down the drug lord responsible. Luke Garrett is a drifter with secrets he would rather not share with anyone; Carmen Lopez, a dedicated detective, is hoping she will be the one to crack this case wide open and finally get the respect she deserves. When they set up a sting operation and realize the drug lord was tipped off, they know someone they trust is a mole and will have to proceed with caution to win the battle against this drug ring.

Broken Hero by Doug Dorsey has a storyline which would work in any setting; big city, small town, rural area. I enjoyed the plot and the twists I did not see coming. The characters are well written, with both their good qualities and their flaws there for readers to see. One should read the first book in the series to fully understand the plot and storyline. I would recommend both books to fans of this genre.
