In Chance for Freedom by Ron Sturm, Chance is not a man to sit back and watch someone being bullied. He is a man of action and with his background and skills, there is not much for him to fear. After a home invasion during which his wife and son were killed, he is only seen at the ranch and baseball games. While sitting at the top of the bleachers, he notices the talented twelve-year-old CJ and his mother picking him up and is intrigued. Chance sees CJ running away from a man at a game and decides to find out more about him and his mother. He goes for breakfast at the restaurant to talk to Emma, who served him, and tries to find out more about them, but she does not want to talk about her past. They become friends and soon he has to protect Emma and CJ from their past.

Chance for Freedom by Ron Sturm is fast-paced with a thrilling plot and several interesting subplots. It is suspenseful, and this makes the story powerful. I was intrigued by the events as they unfolded naturally. The story is full of action and kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to know what will happen next. There were so many surprises that I never knew what to expect and could not turn the pages fast enough to find out. The characters were fully developed and skillfully handled. Each had an intriguing backstory. I learned about each character on a deeper level, and I could relate to them. The story is well written and had my attention from the beginning. Chance for Freedom exceeded my expectations.
