Contact Mr.Delgado by James Pattinson reminded me a whole lot of James Bond. It seems trouble is one step behind Harvey Landon no matter where he goes. Arriving in South America to meet up with Don Diego, he is quickly arrested. Although he was told it would be safe, the officials seem to know all about him and that he is there to meet Diego. Helping train workers in Diego’s régime to overthrow the South American Government, Harvey realized there had to be traitors among them. Breaking him out of jail, Diego has a job for Landon: get a letter to Mr. Delgado in New York, get paid and just disappear. Complications arise as Landon, with no passport, manages to make it across borders onto a ship headed to New York, all the while being stalked by a sadistic killer and an irate police captain from Santa Ana. As he stays one step ahead of them, can he keep this letter safe and out of the hands of those that want it?

As I stated above, this reminded me of reading a James Bond thriller. Harvey Landon is quite the character, and it seems as if he has nine lives. Even though one knows who the killer is, it's quite interesting wondering how he is going to get out of the next fix that he has gotten himself into. I like the idea that it was cleanly written and very little, if any, curse words throughout. The two main characters, Landon and the stalker Golbek, seem to grow on you the more you read. If you like a lightly filled suspense story, then you will enjoy Contact Mr. Delgado.
