Dash's Christmas: A Dog's Tale About the Magic of Christmas (Dash Series) by Nicole M MacDonald is a children’s illustrated story about a dog named Dash, who is overly busy around the holiday season. His schedule is chock full as he prepares for the special Christmas Day, sorting out one chore at a time. But after each item on his list is checked off, a sudden feeling comes over him. Like a vague sense that something is incomplete, somehow he forgot something or someone. And we are left to wonder what that something might be.
This is a sweet children’s story that kids will love to read and enjoy. The marvelous art is full of detail and creative coloring that will draw the reader into this fantasy rhyming story. I think the lesson about family and friends is significant and well placed since kids of this age group seem to be tempted from every side to only think about the gifts they will soon be receiving. It is a lesson worth repeating as long as we celebrate Christmas. Spending time together with family and friends is what makes cherished childhood memories. The toys will soon be forgotten, but the experiences we share with close family and friends can last for years after they are over. This story is a great reminder of just that. Dash's Christmas by Nicole M MacDonald comes highly recommended and is sure to delight children everywhere.
