Author Biography

Kaylon Bruner Tran is the award-winning author of The Agent Orange Trilogy. She is best known for her medical research studies which focus on the generational effects of toxicant exposure. Her first book, Time Intertwined, was inspired by events in her family following a DNA test. The one book became the first of the trilogy and Kaylon has found a new passion in addition to being a mom and scientist. Her most recent novel, Edge of Justice, was born the day she fell off her kitchen counter. She was badly bruised and looked as though she had been beaten. She decided a similar event would add an interesting twist to a crime fiction story.

Maggie Dalrymple didn’t expect to get swept off her feet by the man she'd met on the online dating site. Having recently divorced from her husband of two decades, she was hesitant to enter the dating pool again, but curious about what was out there. Her son was leaving for college, and she was starting over as she approached middle age. It was magical for a while, but it was too good to be true like all good things. Things turned sour as quickly as they heated up, ending with her ex-husband finding her lying at the bottom of a ravine. But who was responsible? The ex-boyfriend, or the ex-husband? It seems obvious until Detectives Angela Baxter and Max Gruber discover that Maggie isn’t the only mysterious death in the area. Edge of Justice, by Kaylon Bruner Tran, is an exciting murder mystery that will keep you guessing until the last page.

I enjoyed Edge of Justice because it isn’t your typical suspense novel. Kaylon Bruner Tran has weaved an intricate tale of intrigue around complex relationships and circumstances that seem obvious on the surface, but get more complicated the deeper you dig. These detectives have their work cut out for them as one victim leads to another, creating a web of deception and lies that will captivate readers. It's excellently plotted, with great characters, a wonderful story arc, and a believable adventure that shows the trials and tribulations of a mystery from the crime itself through the complexities of the justice system. This is an excellent and exciting story that I highly recommend.
