Author Biography

David Klochko is a first-time children’s book author and father of one. Inspired by his daughter, David began writing “Fly High Baby Dragon” to help her understand the importance of practice and patience. Growing up, and often into adulthood, David also struggled with the concept of perseverance in the face of difficult tasks. He hopes that both kids and parents can find the same inspiration that he has found in “Fly High Baby Dragon”, so that they too can try something new and fly high.

Trying to do something new is often difficult. For Baby Dragon, learning to fly like his mother is very difficult. David Klochko’s Fly High, Baby Dragon follows Baby Dragon from his birth through his struggles and frustrations as he tries to learn how to fly. His mother knows how frustrating it can be. After all, she was once a baby dragon. But she encourages him and knows just what to do to help Baby Dragon muster his courage and fly high in the skies. What does she do? Well, it has something to do with some of the other things dragons love to do.

David Klochko’s picture book, Fly High, Baby Dragon, is a charming, illustrated bedtime story for young readers, encouraging them to foster resilience and growth through dreams, patience, perseverance, and determination. The language is simple to help young readers follow along easily and the different fonts used for the text add a little flavor to the story. The illustrations are delightful: bright, bold, and colorful. The plot follows Baby Dragon’s adventure and learning curve. The characters are well-developed, playful, and full of love. This is a great tool for parents, guardians, and teachers to encourage young people never to give up on their dreams and to try hard to overcome any obstacles in their path. After all, life is just one big learning curve set on an adventurous course of discovery and determination. Beautifully told and presented, this story will both charm and educate young readers.
