Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely is a spiritually rich, emotionally endearing, and psychologically affecting narrative that captures the beauty of one woman’s journey of faith into understanding the different seasons of her soul. In a moment of inspiration — revelation — the author felt a strong connection between the colors of the rainbow and her heart, and felt compelled to share the story of this “Journey of Miracles.” Starting with the meaning of each color of the rainbow, the author crafts an inspiring story of the Rainbow Revelation and explores themes of illness and suffering, love and surrender, family and friendship, and her spiritual connection with God. It’s interesting how this journey transforms her perception of life and how it makes her see God through every season of her life.

While this memoir reads like a spiritual autobiography, it is a symbolic journey that offers readers a very fresh perspective into thinking about their relationship with God. The rainbow is an image — colorful and soothing as it is — that symbolizes God’s enduring love for humanity, an image that recalls His compassion after the devastating flood, a symbol of His compassion. Dianna Donnely’s writing reflects the colors of the rainbow — joyous, colorful, and filled with light. You won’t be able to read this book and look at your life in the same way again. One of the greatest lessons I learned from Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles is that one thing alone is constant — God’s love. Every other emotion we feel is transitory, like the seasons. You’ll be inspired and entertained by this book, a rare gift of love and faith that you’ll want to pass on to others.

"I simply admired rainbows, but now I see them as a smile from God that reassures me I’m traveling down the right path. Whenever I see a rainbow, it is a reminder of God’s faithfulness,” says Lily Marie Eastbrook Rhodes in Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely. Did you know that colors are connected to various types of emotions that send messages. Dianna Donnely uses what she calls The Rainbow Revelation to give meanings of colors - from violet which means our future, dreams and faith, and green for renewal, balance and well-being, to yellow which brings with it caution, clarity and awareness. Dianna Donnely walks us through the different seasons of real life experiences as expressed through colors, using Lily Marie Eastbrook Rhodes as the fictional character to tell the story. Through these stories we are shown how God’s love, mercy and grace have been the catalyst for the challenges and the paths of what we call life.

You will become empowered and maybe see a glimpse of your life as you read Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely. Despite the fact that Dianna Donnely is the author, you will read stories from others about their journey. What was inspiring was not only the colors that opened each chapter - from violet and indigo to red - but there were appropriate scriptures tied to each story. I truly enjoyed reading Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely and I am sure you will too. In order to complete Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely, you will be introduced to some delectable baking recipes. Enjoy!

Heart Seasons - A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely is a message from the heart. Meet Lily Marie Eastbrook Rhodes. Lily is a devoted wife, loving daughter, and a loyal, hard working, career-minded woman. After a set of very unfortunate events, namely “career-stressed” illnesses, Lily and her husband, Ryan, move back to her beloved hometown of Beachville, OR. After returning home, a list of new worries begins to surface. Through each tragic circumstance of Lily’s life, God makes Himself known. Time and time again, Lily recognizes another “God Thing” occurrence in her life. After a time of soul searching, Lily realizes that God moved her to her childhood hometown to discover Him. “If you’re looking for it, God shows up in the simplest ways to let you know He’s there.”

Dianna Donnely pens a testimonial of faith in Heart Seasons - A Journey of Miracles. Donnely sets the stage by preparing the reader with insights into the colors of the rainbow spectrum. Each of the colors represents a season of the heart for her main character. The theme of God’s covenant promise flows throughout the narrative. Written in first person, the story is told through the heroine. In the beginning of the novel, the writing style is a bit choppy, but before long, a gentle rhythm develops and I found myself immersed in the life of the main character. How much can one family take? The conflicts are heart-wrenching and real, yet the resolve of the characters to carry on is astonishing. My favorite line: “It’s not how you begin your life that matters, it's how you choose to make the journey.” This statement is profoundly true. Heart Seasons reveals the patient, ever-presence of God. His ways and His timing are perfect, and truly “God gives us grace for the season we are in.”

Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely is written after the author faced a medical crisis, and it encapsulates the different periods of the author’s life. She has made it interesting and colorful by giving the sessions in the book the colors of the rainbow. The seven bands she has used symbolize the opening of her heart to God’s love and becoming whole. The author connects each color with the seasons of her heart and she reiterates the power and love of God in our lives. The book opens with the emotionally intense color red, where readers get to see the loss of the author’s two immediate family members and her medical problem. The book is about faith, love, gratitude, and self-discovery and will inspire readers to look into their lives and have faith in God’s will.

I liked the concept of using the rainbow to depict the different moods of the author and it works aptly with the experiences endured by the author. She looks at the rainbow as a reminder of God’s faithfulness, as it always appears after a storm. The manner in which the author has given colors to her different emotions makes it a colorful read, and it is also encouraging to note how she discovered her two new passions. The author’s love for healthy and nutritious food runs through the book.

The spiritual vibes stand out well throughout the book and the fictional story, based on her real life and God’s whispers, connects well with readers. The book is insightful and uplifting and will make readers feel God’s grace and His mighty power.

Heart Seasons is a Christian fiction novel by Dianna Donnely. This novel is about the different moments in Donnely’s life that influenced her to seek God, and ultimately let her learn more about herself and who she is as a person. Although this is fiction, the events that occur are based on real-life experiences that are rough and enlightening at the same time. Through her faith, she learns that she can overcome anything, and that she needs God in her life to prosper. Through the different colors of the rainbow, she reflects on what it means to be truly faithful, happy and to lead others through her same path of joy. Each color has a distinct meaning that guides you and understands you, and leads you to God in ways you wouldn’t expect.

Heart Seasons is a novel that will make you believe in faith again. My favorite part of this novel is the clear explanations of the colors of the rainbow before the story actually starts; the colors and their explanations actually help guide you through Donnely’s journey and I was surprised with how much these colors came into play. Dianna Donnely’s writing is great; the narrative flowed nicely and I particularly enjoyed the dialogue and the rich descriptions of the events. The way she writes about faith is uplifting and intriguing; she inspires you to reflect on your own form of faith. I suggest this book to anyone who is looking to read an inspiring novel. This book teaches you that it is important to stay positive, and to remember that God’s love for you is infinite.

Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles by Dianna Donnely is a powerful, inspirational book from an author with whom I share one thing in common — the love for rainbows. But it is interesting to notice that she sees beyond the colors of the rainbow. She sees God’s smile and gives symbolic meaning to the colors and explains what they represent. For instance, “Green is the color of life, renewal and nature, and symbolizes well-being…” while blue is the pure color that can’t be tainted and one that only God can create. But what do the colors have in common with one woman’s search for meaning, connection with God, and her purpose in life? Inspired by real life events, this is a deeply moving spiritual odyssey that unveils beautiful treasures and spiritual gems, a story of faith.

Dianna Donnely’s book is very beautifully written and it is one of those books that tell the story of most of us, a book that explores our deep quest for meaning and more from life. Readers will enjoy the way she talks about the void that inhabits the human soul, something I’d liken to the dark night of the soul spoken about by St. John of the Cross in his writings. Follow the entertaining and wonderful tale of Lily Eastbrook and see how she reads God into the different aspects of her life from childhood to adulthood. The book is a completely new way of looking at life through the spiritual and symbolic lens of the rainbow. Heart Seasons: A Journey of Miracles is written in the first person narrative and features very beautiful prose. Heartwarming and empowering tale.
