When she’s not traveling the world, Olivia Batker Pritzker lives and writes in Boston, Massachusetts. She has degrees in comparative literature and psychology.

House of Harwood: A Novella by Olivia Batker Pritzker is a short but very powerful story. The Harwood family has gathered for its traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Granny Harwood is the matriarch and her son, John James, is at the head of the table. Sister Victoria and her husband Victor, as well as all the children, are gathered around the large dinner table, enjoying the delicious food. Victor suddenly rises out of his chair and is dead upon hitting the floor. The police and ambulance arrive and it is quickly determined that Victor has not died of natural causes, but that someone at the table has poisoned him. Each family member is shocked by this sudden event and the reader is then exposed to all of the dirty laundry of the Harwood family that took place over the years. The Harwood family has a tangled web of connections to each other and any one of them had a good reason to see Victor dead. As the investigation goes on, there are twists and turns and surprises before learning all the answers.

House of Harwood: A Novella is very short, only 74 pages, but each page is loaded with good reading. Olivia Batker Pritzker is a skilled short story author who has created a plot and characters that make it impossible to put the book down until all the answers are revealed. House of Harwood has mystery, suspense, excitement, love and hate and is a sure winner. All genres are covered and anyone who reads this novella will not be disappointed. This is a must-read for all mystery fans.
