From the moment I began reading this book I was drawn to Jenny. She tended to say things before she thought about them, telling things like she saw them, and hurting people in the process.  She also had a temper. All the while she prayed, ”God, why can’t I control my tongue?”   Trying to avoid Austin was hilarious. She got herself in more predicaments then one can imagine. It seemed no matter what was going on, the two were always paired together

The Characters in this book were outstanding.  Each and every one stood out in the book and seemed to have an integral part in Jenny’s life. You can’t help but fall in love with them, especially Jenny and Austin.

Journey to Forgiveness is a book that I highly recommend. Yes, it is a sweet romance, but it is more than that. Throughout the book, you will have to laugh and cry.  The strong faith in God never wavers. Ms. Brooks has written an outstanding novel that I could not put down.

I won't go into the details on the story, as others have so beautifully done. What I will say, is that Laurean Brooks has written a story from the heart. Her characters are ones that everyone can relate to--I certainly saw myself in Jenny, as she opens her mouth, inserts her foot, talks without thinking, and acts first, seeking forgiveness later. Her love story is sweet, and worth the time and comedic twists and turns to see Jenny and Austin through to their Happily Ever After.

Ms. Brooks faith shines through her writing, and if you enjoy sweet romance, you'll find yourself engaged in this rich story from the word go. I look forward to reading more of her work.

Ms. Brooks has woven a wonderful story, set in 1938, of one woman's wrestling with her religious convictions. Jenny knows the scriptures teaching about forgiveness but her emotional state is wrecked by wanting to make exceptions where she is concerned. Quick to jump to conclusions, out spoken, and carrying the great burdens of her childhood causes her "journey to forgiveness" to be a long and difficult trip. The timely placement of sermons, scripture references and supportive friends and relatives, especially Aunt Violet and Austin Grant, bring Jenny to a marvelous settlement of issues in her life. There were moments when I laughed and moments when I cried. I recommend this heart rending story with its strong characters and spiritual message of forgiveness.

The bible states that the love of money is the root of all evil, but I believe vines of bitterness and anger are equally devestating. They steal our joy and poison our outlook on life. Ms. Brooks has done a wonderful job in this humurous -yet honest-look at the dangerous effects of how holding on to the past can blind one to the promise of tomorrow. A journey to forgiveness is one we should all take and rid ourselves of thenegative fruit unforgiveness bears in our lives.

Journey To Forgiveness provides the reader with their own exciting journey. It is easy to read, holds your attention, and demonstrates a faith-based journey that the reader can relate to. I recommend the book.

If an old fashioned tender romance with a deeper purpose than just your ordinary romance novel is what you are seeking, then search no longer, you have now found it. Journey to Forgiveness is a tale that is intricately woven with both romance and a strong sense of faith. I have so much to say about this book but let me just start with the characters.

Jenny's character was a woman who had one heck of a time holding her tongue. She was a free spirited woman who spoke things exactly as she saw them and it tended to get her in trouble more than a time or two. She was straightforward without being rude and was a delightful character to spend some time with. The predicaments Jenny gets into while trying to avoid Austin were laugh out loud funny. Austin turned out to be one of my most loved hero's of all the books I have read. He was a powerful and passionate man of God who found a special bond with Jenny. Austin was patient, loving, oh so funny and very outgoing. I think these were traits that made me fall in love with his character. The simple little actions he made towards Jenny touched my heart and by the end of the book, I don't know who was more in love, Jenny or myself. The characters in this book showed intense feelings of both love and conflict. It really gripped my heartstrings.

Let's move on to the plot line.
Journey to Forgiveness held a genuinely engaging plot line. A riveting read, I felt this was more than a romance novel, it became a part of my heart and soul. The twists and turns throughout the book were fascinating and I certainly didn't see them coming. My jaw hit the floor on many occasions and I felt myself rooting for Austin and Jenny. There were many hilarious parts of the book.
My favorite line in the book was by Jenny who thought "Two words could describe a romantic involvement. Ultimate insanity." This is the perfect sentence to summarize this hilarious and poignant story.

I took a journey of forgiveness with Ms. Brooks and I enjoyed every single moment of it. Ms. Brooks is a very talented writer who just found herself a new fan. The writing style was very invigorating and unique. I recommend taking your time to read this book. Take time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Take time to enjoy this book through the eyes of someone who is seeing a great deal of things that are new to her. Journey to Forgiveness contained all the elements of an outstanding novel. Humor, romance, sarcasm, action and drama and what made this book extra special to me was the strong belief of having faith in God. I enthusiastically encourage you to pick this book up. This book is very well deserved of the You Gotta Read rating I gave it. I thank Ms. Brooks for writing a book that is so much more than just another romance book. She has given me inspiration!

This book is very easy to read, but has a much deeper meaning than just a Christian love story! The story has all of the elements of a good book, it will make you laugh and cry and pull you right into the story!! As another reader stated, you get a little exasperated with Jenny's stubborn refusal to believe that Grant is not a thief, but in the end.....

This book will minister to your heart if you will let it!!
