Jurisdiction Terminated is a short crime novel by authors Jack Gold and Marc Debbaudt. In a unique setting for an action packed crime caper, the novel’s central characters are a juvenile court judge, a deputy district attorney and a law enforcement agent, all of whom have become jaded by a system which appears to let down those very people it should be aiding to reform. Whilst the judge has settled into a somewhat comfortable lifestyle, all is to be turned on its head when a prominent death leads to the discovery of a massive drugs operation run by agents from North Korea. Our central heroes take it upon themselves to uncover the truth of this sinister plot and put an end to it, whatever the cost of the harrowing truth that they may discover.

The dark heart of the American justice system is exposed in all its foul glory in this short but engaging read. Whilst the narration is somewhat raw and unpolished, authors Jack Gold and Marc Debbaudt make up for this with well paced dialogue and realistic characters, and it’s easy to tell these have come from real life experiences. The gritty action of the novel’s plot will satisfy readers looking for gruesome realism in their crime fiction, whilst the unique setting of the novel is sure to please crime and legal fiction fans looking for a brand new area to explore. Jurisdiction Terminated is a quick but complex read, recommended for readers who appreciate the everyman-turned-hero genre, and love a good bit of gory adventure.
