“Martha Doesn’t Share!”, written by Samantha Berger and illustrated by Bruce Whatley, is shared in an audio version and will hold your child’s attention as well as share an important life lesson. Martha does not like to share her things with her brother and her favorite word has become “mine.” Martha’s toys and blanket are “mine” and she does not want to share. Martha realizes though that some things are difficult to play and do by herself and it really is not that much interesting to play with her toys all by herself. Martha learns that in order for others to play with her and to have more fun playing, she needs to learn to share her things.

Sharing and playing with others is a valuable lesson for children to learn at a young age and this is just the book to help teach and reinforce this concept with young children. The audio version of this book is well-done as the quality is excellent and the story is easily understood and followed. Young children will enjoy listening to this story and it has just the correct length to hold their attention. This story illustrates the point that there are items Martha can have fun playing with by herself; however, there are times when it is more fun to play with others and it is a good thing to share. The story is written with the stress on a message to young children in a way that is easily understood by them.
