Ben thought his luck was changing. He has his career, an iconic VW bus, a hot, wealthy girlfriend, and he'd bought an old fixer-upper in an upscale neighborhood. His new home has a secret that Michael Scott Clifton reveals in Pringle Prawn. His new home is fully furnished so when Ben opens a mysterious grandfather clock, he finds himself dropped into a magical land. There he meets Pringle, a six-inch prawn who saves his life. When Ben returns to his world, Pringle returns with him. A series of hilarious events unfold as Pringle adjusts to the modern world and tries to help Ben using pinches of fairy dust. Pringle's feelings for Ben have grown over time and she must decide whether to return to her world or follow her heart and stay with Ben.
Michael Scott Clifton's plot drops you right into the action in Pringle Prawn at a rapid pace. I was overwhelmed with turmoil as Ben was trying to figure out how to save his life and the lives of his friends. I loved the vivid descriptions of the creatures and the beauty of the new land inside the grandfather clock. The crew Pringle makes brings fun and hilarious characters. I was always surprised and snorted with laughter. The witty door is my favorite. The theme of sacrificing for the ones you love is carried strongly throughout Ben and Pringle's relationship. I would recommend fans of action, drama, and romance to indulge in reading this book.
