Time Swept: A Three Sisters Island Mysteries Magical Moment is author Casi McLean’s latest fun romp through the paradoxes and romance of time travel. When Danica Lane had had enough of the perverted Hollywood underbelly, she sought refuge in her late grandparents' abandoned lake house near Lake Lanier in northern Georgia. Isolated and safe, it was the perfect refuge for the beautiful young woman. However, 140 years earlier, not long after the Civil War had ended, Nathan Hayes was returning to his plantation after selling some pigs at the market when he was accosted by the local detective and was accused of the murder of a young woman on the edge of his property. Despite Nathan’s adamant assertions that he wasn’t even in the vicinity of the plantation at the time of the murder, the detective was convinced he had his man and that Nathan would hang for this vile crime. Overpowering the detective and running, Nathan seeks shelter in an old stone storage shed that nobody knows about. It is here that the timelines of Danica and Nathan will intersect and romance will be forged across the years.

Time Swept is pure fun escapism. Author Casi McLean has quickly become a master of the time travel genre and builds wonderfully complex plots invariably underpinned by a sweet and loving romance. I have read several of McLean’s books and I am always pleasantly surprised by her innovative concepts about time travel that put her above other authors writing in this genre. I am a sucker for a good romance and when it also includes the excitement and wonder of time travel, it just takes on an extra special perspective. I particularly enjoyed Nathan’s wonder and childlike excitement when he found himself in the 21st century and the amazing devices and technology he encountered. The author’s characterization of Nathan as the perfect Southern gentleman who is polite, genteel, well-mannered, and above all scrupulously honest contrasted well with today’s laissez-faire attitudes, especially regarding the truth. The idea that the timeline or the Universe, if you like, had self-correcting methods to ensure what should happen does happen was intriguing and added to the story’s overall enjoyment and depth. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can highly recommend it.

Danica Lane has just escaped from the plastic life of Hollywood and a man who wasn’t the best choice for her. She returned to her late grandparents’ cabin in Atlanta to heal and regroup in the hopes of figuring out what she wanted to do with her life. With the nest egg left by her beloved grandparents, the only family she’d known after losing her parents at a young age, Danica hopes to restore their lake house cabin. Lake Lanier had been her childhood home and a place that had always given her peace. However, strange sightings around the house reinforce the legend that the lake has mystical powers, and Danica will experience firsthand the veracity of this legend. Find out more about the mysteries of Lake Lanier in Time Swept by Casi McLean.

I loved Time Swept; it’s a very easy read. It’s reminiscent of the 2006 Sandra Bullock movie The Lake House. I loved how Casi McLean masterfully switched between 1883 and the present day; it was seamless, and I didn’t get lost. I enjoyed the contrast between the 1800s diction and modern diction; I thought she did a great job depicting both, especially Dani’s idioms, which were usually lost on Nathan and the rest. I also liked how she ended each chapter on a somewhat ominous and abrupt note; it created suspense. From the get-go, I loved the chemistry between Nathan and Danica. If you’re looking for a feel-good romance novel with a dash of mystery and thrilling suspense, then Time Swept by Casi McLean is a perfect fit.

Star-crossed lovers. Time travel. Adventure. Mystery. For Nathan and Danica, life will never be the same from the moment they first set eyes on one another. Across 140 years of time and space, a story of love and the greatest experience of a lifetime is set to happen. But only if they can clear Nathan’s good name for a murder he didn’t commit and only if they can save the young woman he’s accused of murdering. This woman seems so familiar to Danica and whose bloody face Nathan will never forget. But even if they can solve the mystery and save Arabella, what will it mean for these two lovers who find themselves separated by several lifetimes in Time Swept by Casi McLean? The only way to know is to dive in.

If you’re looking for a romance that adds just the right amount of history (including some actual historical facts) and sci-fi, you’re looking for Time Swept by Casi McLean. Danica and Nathan are both strong but sweet characters that you’ll find yourself rooting for from the very start. And as you get to know each of them and the mystery that pulls them together, you may just wonder where your own time travel happily ever after may be. The settings are well described so you can really picture yourself there, even down to historical details. I loved the way that the entire story developed and couldn’t wait to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next.

Treat yourself to a captivating time travel romance mystery with Casi McLean's Time Swept. It's 1883, and after finding himself falsely accused of the murder of a young woman, Nathan Hayes takes shelter in an abandoned stone cellar. Meanwhile, in the present, Danica Lane has recently escaped the clutches of an exploitative Hollywood agent and returned home to Georgia. She comes across the injured Nathan, who has somehow traveled 140 years into the future. Feeling an irresistible mutual attraction, the two strangers explore the mystery, eventually finding a way to travel back in time where Nathan is determined to clear his name. But to do so, Nathan and Dani have to save the young woman, Arabella Anderson, whose father has unwittingly made some dangerous enemies. What does the future have in store for Nathan and Dani?

With a helping of mystery, romance, and intrigue, Casi McLean delivers an entertaining tale that, at times, traverses the genres of sci-fi and paranormal thriller. Time Swept surprises you at regular intervals, as whenever you feel you've figured out the plot, the narrative throws a curveball your way that only draws you further into the story. McLean paces the plot nicely, giving each character enough time and presence to make an impression on the reader. Nathan and Dani are the obvious standouts, but I also enjoyed the personalities of the Holloway sisters, McKenzie and Arabella. The love story works out seamlessly with the engaging chemistry between Nathan and Dani. For readers who are itching for a cozy time travel mystery featuring romance and intrigue, this one is for you!

Danica Lane is running away and coming home at the same time. She has endured enough abuse from the Hollywood lifestyle she thought she wanted, but which has left her disappointed and empty. Arriving at the lake house in North Georgia, Dani finds only the shell of what had once been a place full of life and happiness when Papa and Grana were still alive. As she begins the restoration of her old home, everything changes with the appearance of a time-traveling stranger that leaves her tingling from head to toe. Has she finally found the love and purpose she'd been searching for? But there is a huge problem. Nathan is on the run from an 1883 detective who thinks he has committed murder. His honor and his family's name must be cleared of the crime he did not commit. To do so, he'll have to go back in time to solve the crime before it is committed. However, that means Danica might lose him forever in Time Swept by Casi McLean.

If you like time travel, romance, mystery, and intrigue all rolled together, then Casi McLean has the bases covered in Time Swept: A Three Sisters Island Mysteries Magical Moment. As the author brings two lovers from two different eras together to solve a 140-year-old crime, she also repairs and restores the lives of each, revealing their true destiny. She expertly takes her readers back to post-Civil War Georgia without being trippy and she stirs the romance without being trite. You won’t be disappointed by Casi McLean as every page-turning moment in Time Swept is rewarded with romance and intrigue that will stick with you long after you have put it down. This book is very well written and the author kept me engaged from beginning to end.
