There is a lot of magic and imagination packed into every book. Sharing the passion of reading between a parent (or caregiver) and a child is a special time that will weave a unique journey for all who read together. In Robert Broder’s Reading Together, a girl grows up from infancy sharing quality time with her parents and, of course, a good book (or more). The passion for reading begins with picture books, the illustrations telling as much of the story as the words themselves, weaving a tale of adventure, humor, or even just about the interesting things and creatures that inhabit our planet. And, when the girl grows up and learns to read, she starts reading to her parents and the shared passion continues.

Robert Broder’s picture book, Reading Together, is a sweet and endearing story about bonding through books and a passion for reading. The story is told in simple language so young readers will have the opportunity to improve their reading skills. Melissa Larson's illustrations are spectacular and are a story in themselves that will capture young readers’ attention as they create their own stories based on what they see in the pictures. I love the way the story begins with the newborn child nestled between her parents as they read to her, holding the book above her so she can enjoy the colorful images. It’s a key point that one is never too young to be introduced to books. Heartwarming and enchanting for children of all ages (even the child within us all, young and old).
