Sasha and His Red Leash by Yossi Lapid with illustrations by Joanna Pasek is the first book in The Secret Diary of a Lucky Pup series. Sasha is one lucky little puppy. He has Big Boss Bob, Sasha’s loving owner, who gives him the best of everything. He takes Sasha on walks, gives him treats and healthy snacks. Now through his diary, Sasha shares his story with readers. While his life seems to be perfect, there’s one thing that he absolutely hates: the red leash. The leash that Big Boss Bob puts on him wherever they go. Sasha tries all sorts of things to make the leash disappear. He tries to drown it twice and even tries to bury it in the yard, but no matter what he tries, it just keeps coming back. This leads Sasha to learn a very important lesson from Big Boss Bob about safety.

Sasha and His Red Leash is a delightful story that teaches children how to keep their pets safe, which makes this book the perfect tool to prepare children for pets. This story will spark a valuable discussion between parents and children as Yossi Lapid uses this story to educate children. Sasha is a happy puppy that children will immediately love as they see images of Sasha enjoying treats, walks, and attention. As the story weaves through what makes this little puppy happy, children see what makes him unhappy - the dreaded leash. The red leash is Sasha’s enemy and Joanna Pasek depicts humorous images of Sasha’s attempts to get rid of it. Lapid weaves this need for freedom into a good lesson about safety that will teach children how to keep their dogs safe. This is a must-have story that parents will love sharing with their children. It prepares youngsters for the role of a pet owner and teaches them pet safety. Children will enjoy the charm and humor of Sasha and His Red Leash.

Sasha and His Red Leash: The Secret Diary of a Lucky Puppy, Book 1 is a children’s picture book written by Yossi Lapid and illustrated by Joanna Pasek. Sasha thinks he’s a pretty lucky dog. He gets to take a walk each morning and, when he gets back home, there’s always a treat waiting for him. Sasha loves the snacks he finds in his red dog bowl as well. And Big Boss Bob is always around and willing to play ball with him. If only he could get rid of that red leash. Sasha hates that leash. He’s tried ways to hide it and make it disappear, but that leash always turns up again. One day, Sasha and Big Boss Bob had a talk about the leash and Sasha shared his feelings. Bob came up with a good plan, one that would let Sasha have the freedom to explore when they’re out together while staying safe at all times.

Yossi Lapid’s Sasha and His Red Leash introduces a puppy who knows just how good he’s got it. He loves his family, yard and walks with Big Boss Bob, but sometimes he just wishes he could explore on his own. I loved seeing the world through Sasha’s eyes and commiserated with him on the subject of the dreaded leash. The agreement Bob and his pup come up with is brilliant, and the way Lapid presents it is a marvelous teaching tool for kids about safety outdoors whether they have a dog or not. Fans of Lapid’s brilliant Snowman Paul Series will get a big charge out of seeing his cameo appearance in this story -- I know I did. Joanna Pasek’s watercolor paintings work perfectly with the story. She does an amazing job of sharing Sasha’s personality and facial expressions. I’m looking forward to Sasha’s further adventures. Sasha and His Red Leash: The Secret Diary of a Lucky Puppy, Book 1 is most highly recommended.

Sasha and his Red Leash: The Secret Diary Of A Lucky Pup by Yossi Lapid is about a dog named Sasha. He’s a happy pup who loves treats and healthy snacks as well as playing with his owner Big Boss Bob. One thing that he doesn’t care for is his red leash. No matter how many times he tries to get rid of it, his human finds out. Sasha wants to be able to roam free but he learns that there are times when it is safe to be without his pesky red leash and then there are unsafe times when it’s needed.

Yossi Lapid has done a wonderful job creating a book for children on how to care for their dogs. Aside from beautiful illustrations that tell the story perfectly, Sasha and his Red Leash has some wonderful lessons that the child or parent reading can see. The fact that the story goes through different scenarios that are more interactive is brilliant and helps the child engage with what is being asked within its pages. I can't praise enough the beautiful artwork by Joanna Pasek. Colorful and imaginative, her illustrations really bring this creation to life. It’s a perfect short story for parents trying to teach their children about pet responsibly or simply for those who are pet lovers. Seeing that this is the first book, I’m very curious to see what else is in store for Sasha. I will be referring this book to friends that have small children.

Sasha and His Red Leash is a fun pet-themed picture book written for children by author Yossi Lapid with illustrations by artist Joanna Pasek. Forming the first book in The Secret Diary of a Lucky Pup series, this opening story introduces us to the adorable Sasha, whose life is filled with fun and frolic. But when readers dip into Sasha’s secret diary, they will discover that he doesn’t like being put on his red leash by Big Boss Bob. Important lessons in pet care and safety are discussed through the theme of the red leash to entertain but also teach children about the balance between safety and fun.

This was certainly a highly entertaining and joyous book that dog lovers are sure to adore, not least for the sheer brightness of Sasha the puppy as its lead character. Artist Joanna Pasek features many lovely shots of our bright-eyed hero with a really good emotional quality that matches the highs and lows of the story perfectly, bringing the tale to life for younger readers. The book is suitable for read-alongs and young independent readers thanks to the excellent rhyme scheme put in place by author Yossi Lapid, which adds rhythm and humor to the easily accessible tale. Combining all this with the book’s highly educational quality regarding themes of safety just makes it all the better. Overall, Sasha and His Red Leash is an essential read for youngsters learning to look after their pets and teaches how to have fun with them in a safe way.

Sasha and his Red Leash: A picture book about safety and fun for dogs lovers (The secret Diary of a Lucky Pup 1) by Yossi Lapid
Colorful, children's rhyming story. This story starts out with Sasha and he knows he's a lucky pup. Further sometimes rhyming words tell you what's on the pages about why the dog is so lucky.
One thing he does not like, the red leash but Big Boss Bob explains to him why he must use it-to keep himself safe from harm.. He tries to bury it, put it in a puddle and hide it in a drawer...
He just wishes to be free... cute how he does get a wish. Like questions in the book that ask 'is Sashsa safe here?" and you can figure out the answer...one side of the book shows a safe place, other side a harmful place.
Good that you can see what is really going on.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
