Talking with Your Daughter About Understanding Boys: 8 Great Dates for Dads and Daughters by Bob and Dannah Gresh is part of a series called The Secret Keeper Girl. It is a 3-part book which gives readers fun activities, intriguing discussions, and biblical verses-references, pertaining to a father-daughter relationship. Young girls become interested in boys way too early in today's age for their parents' liking, but most often more their father's liking. Talking with Your Daughter About Understanding Boys is designed to help fathers talk with their daughters who are aged 8-12 about important topics concerning boys. The book is separated into three sections. Part 1: Dads Matter - No Matter What the World Says; Part 2: 8 Great Dates; and Part 3: Other Great Stuff.

The authors have written this biblical resource to focus mainly on the relationship between fathers and daughters. The book's creation was to aid fathers and daughters with understanding the importance of a father. The book tackles the everyday questions girls may have for their fathers about young boys, and helps them find ways to bond with each other while getting quality 'together time' and discussing the questions. As the questions start flowing, it is sometimes easier for fathers to relate the question to an event or experience. That is where the 8 Great Dates comes in with the 2nd part of the book. Each date states the Challenge Activity, a biblical verse to reference, the objective that is sought, and what materials or supplies may be needed for that particular activity. The pages within each date offer an explanation on how to complete the activity, a story, questions, and worksheet guides to go with each one of the eight dates.

The book is a wonderful resource for fathers and daughters to bond and explore the never-ending questions a tween girl might have about boys, God, and themselves. It is a great book not only for one-on-one experiences but for small groups as well. Although this is primarily a book for fathers and daughters, the authors offer a particular section for those who are single parents.
