The Big Wheel by Scott Archer Jones is set in the year 2020. The Big Wheel starts with a robbery. It's an excellently described piece of corporate burglary by a likable thief named Robko Zlata. Robko is the first of a host of great characters that Scott Archer Jones scatters throughout The Big Wheel. Robko's heist is what brings these characters out of the woodwork and on a collision course with each other. This is science fiction in the Cyber Punk vein, but you could run into any of these characters in a boardroom or back alley in any major city today. I think this is what I liked most about The Big Wheel. We go from corridors of nearly unimaginable wealth and power to places where the dregs of society hang out and the characters and dialogue always ring true. The Big Wheel is a very entertaining story, but it also made me wonder if we are ready for some of the wonders technology is about to hand us.

I really liked The Big Wheel. It's a great book. I can't say that for every book I review. Sometimes I just don't really get into a book, even if it is well written and doesn't have many flaws. I picked it up on a weekend when I had some time and it really worked out for me because I couldn't put it down. It is a quick, quirky little piece of literature and I will be looking for Scott Archer Jones' name any time I'm in a bookstore from now on.

The Big Wheel is a quick-read thriller novel by Scott Archer Jones. The story centers on Robert ‘Robko’ Zlata, an opportunistic thief who believes he’s pinching an amazing device for getting high from a premier politician. The ugly truth is that Robko has stolen a device that ensures immortality, and now he must flee from some pretty powerful enemies in a mad dash to save his own sorry skin. Present in the chase is Thomas Steward, determined to recover the device, but he’s got a dangerous hit man of his own on his tail, making for the ultimate crazy chase as chaos erupts in the seedy underbelly of the criminal world. The big wheel of fate is turning, and it’s anyone’s guess who will survive the madness.

Robko is initially presented as a charming but hedonistic moron intent on getting a buzz from his latest criminal caper, and I enjoyed the way that Scott Archer Jones allows this rogue to worm his way into your heart – however unwilling you may be – as the story progresses. I felt genuine tragedy at the story’s conclusion, which I find to be highly unusual in the high-octane world of action and thriller fiction. The Big Wheel presents the usual rough and tough alpha male characters that I would expect from this genre, but the whole affair was peppered with genuine sentiment and an overwhelming sense of the cruel fate of humanity that thoroughly impressed me. It’s got everything your usual thriller needs, but also much, much more.

The Big Wheel by Scott Archer Jones is a fast paced novel centered on Robko Zlata, an eccentric thief. The story begins with Robko in the middle of a heist. His objective is to break into the office building of Governor O’Brien and relieve the vault of its contents. He smoothly carries out his operation and informs his boss of his success. He later passes on the memory devices he stole to his boss. He kept the twelfth device. It resembled a box of crystals which he felt had immense value. Governor O’Brien pulls out all the stops to recover the items Robko stole from his safe. O’Brien hires a hit man plus an operative to hunt down Robko. Robko is on the run...

The Big Wheel is an intriguing novel. The book begins at a rapid pace. Scott Archer Jones engages his readers from the get go. I was enthralled with the incessant action unfolding in the plot. I felt as though I was actually watching a movie. I could not put the book down. The plot is that enticing! The cat and mouse feature of the plot played an important role in the attractiveness of the storyline. I loved the detailed description of the main character’s line of work. It really makes you wonder whether the author is also a pro in this field. The language used is colloquial and it is quite easy to understand. The introduction of a romantic relationship between the main character and his female accomplice was an added bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Big Wheel. I recommend it to all lovers of books packed with action.

The Big Wheel by Scott Archer Jones is the story of Robko Zlata who has a reputation as a high-level thief and is retained for a high-tech theft by the Gray Man. All goes according to a well-rehearsed plan until Robko discovers something neither of them had been expecting. His decision to keep his find a secret, in the hope of making more money, results in his becoming the prey of the renowned Thomas Steward, a brilliant expert in seeking out those who do not wish to be found. So follows a cat and mouse journey of deceit and intrigue as Robko tries to escape from his determined hunter. Thomas is not the only one following Robko as he finds himself fleeing for his life and entering a world even he had not imagined.

This is a fast-paced crime thriller with a twist at every turn. Unpredictable and engrossing, the world Robko finds himself in is far worse than he had ever imagined. The author, Scott Archer Jones, has woven an amazing story with a plot and sub-plots that leave the reader reeling. Well written with a breathless pace and nail-biting twists, The Big Wheel makes an incredible read. The detail of the heist and the descriptive scenes, together with believable and somewhat awesome characters, make this a memorable book and will certainly have me seeking out other works by this author. This is one of the rare books that had me page-turning to the end and unable to put it down. A credit to the author and his imagination. I hope the scenario he created is purely of his imagination or the world is no longer a safe place to live.
