Author Biography

Sher lives with her family in the Puyallup river valley. The Timestream Travelers Chronicles is her first series. Her  inspiration for this series came from teaching middle school science and her deep curiosity with genetics and time travel.

Once the idea came to her to connect earthquake activity to openings in the space-time continuum, the characters appeared in her imagination and the book started writing itself in her head and is still going strong. Book two, The Resurrection is also coming out later this year.

As a science teacher for seventeen years Sher is always delighted to bump into her former students and learn about the new adventures in their lives. In her spare time, she kayaks, dances, and goes camping and hiking.

In the summertime Sher heads for concerts with outdoor venues for some live music. An ardent conversationalist, she enjoys reading all types of books and will happily converse on a variety of topics with anyone! Sher is especially fond of listening to life stories.

The Rescue is the first installment of the Timestream Travelers Chronicles by Sher J. Stultz. Fourteen-year-old Aeneas Entwistle finds himself waking up wearing different socks each night, with gaps in his memories. Alongside his best friends, C.J. and Tabitha, Aeneas discovers from the video feed that he mysteriously disappears in the night, only to climb through the window after a while. Meanwhile, in the year 2053, Cassie, Aeneas' future daughter, travels back to 2015 in search of her missing father. She seeks the help of the Entwistles eccentric housekeeper Harold and Aeneas' genius older brother Socrates to complete her mission. As Aeneas navigates his complicated feelings toward Tabitha, Cassie and Harold must visit a day in Socrates' past that has haunted him forever. However, there are unexpected consequences to changing one's past.

If you're a fan of time-traveling adventure stories, you'll have an absolute blast reading The Rescue from the Timestream Travelers Chronicles. Author Sher J. Stultz weaves an intricate plot filled with unexpected twists and turns that hooks you in from the first page and refuses to let go until the end. Moving at a blistering pace, the narrative is full of intrigue, mystery, and a sense of wonder that you find in well-written adventure tales. The characters are colorful and full of life. Their distinct quirks and idiosyncrasies only make them more appealing to the reader. I adored the friendship between Aeneas, Tabitha, and C.J. I also found myself enjoying the dynamic between Cassie and Harold. Recommended to young adult sci-fi/fantasy lovers.

Although this genre does not usually grab me, Rescue: Book One of the Timestream Travelers Chronicles by Sher J. Stultz is a definite recommendation. The Entwistle family of West Seattle, Washington, faces an interesting, if not bizarre, crisis. Aeneas Entwistle has disappeared; not entirely unusual for the patriarch of this family of eccentric geniuses. But, Aeneas is a time traveler whose recent jump on a time stream did not return him. As a child, Aeneas experienced inexplicable episodes of falling asleep only to awaken wearing oddly mismatched socks, leading to the conclusion that although not of the genius status as his siblings, he had the ability to time travel. Once this talent is recognized by family and friends, there is no stopping the adventures across time. Until Aeneas does not come home. His daughter begins a search across time to find her father, all while cautious of not altering events of the future.

Sher J. Stultz creates a realistic fantasy impossible to put down in Rescue. With a massive number of characters and locations, it is with careful consideration that the author includes a detailed index of characters and relationships for reference. This science teacher-turned-writer dedicates Rescue to her “brave students” as a testimony of her dedication to young readers. Narration and dialogue flow easily in this delightful twist to fantasy fiction. The characters are realistic and believable. Although the timeline jumps around a lot due to the nature of this genre, the author convincingly maintains a comfortable continuum of the plot. I cannot wait for Book Two of the Timestream Travelers Chronicles!

The Rescue is the first book in The Timestream Travelers Chronicles by Sher J. Stultz. The story begins when Aeneas learns he wakes up with different socks every so often. Believing that this could be a prank by Aeneas’s siblings, Aeneas, Tabitha, and C.J. set up a camera in Aeneas’s room. However, nothing could have prepared them to discover that Aeneas simply vanishes in his bed and reappears from the window in his bedroom. Things became stranger when a woman named Cassie arrives in their lives, claiming to be from the future. Cassie is Aeneas’s daughter from the future, and she needs help to find her father who has vanished. Strange but convincing, Aeneas, Tabitha, and C.J. believe her and want to help her out. But none of them had any idea that Cassie being here in the past shakes the balance. Can they all help Cassie out before it is too late? Or will Cassie have to make a decision she never wanted to make?

The Rescue by Sher J. Stultz is interesting. Aeneas’s character is well-rounded and developed. Aeneas drove the story forward and allowed readers a look into their world. The concept and the execution of thereof are well done. The narrative is engaging and almost in a conversational style, which makes it much easier for any reader to feel like a part of the story. Cassie’s character is the real turn of events; her presence changes the situation. Her presence adds action, increases the pace, and allows readers to get closer to the characters as well. Time travel is always fun to read, but this one was special. The pace was perfect, the story was incredibly well-put-together, and the overall feel was fascinating. Powerful and fun to read!
