Author Biography

Geoff Robberts is the pseudonym for a pair of concerned old white guys. We started the novel to focus on our views about the divisions in the country. We felt, and still do that the so-called bell curve of political thought wasn't highest in the middle with gradually tapering edges. Instead, it quickly devolved into the shape of barbells, with more and more extremists with fewer and fewer centrists.

We firmly believed that traditional media and its social counterparts had become unhinged, with the voices of cruel and misleading pundits.

We imagined a reaction from the man-in-the-middle so incensed by the hateful rhetoric that he becomes a vigilante. We followed his actions and the conspirators who joined him, seemingly in random ways.

The novel was complete, off being edited, before the Jan 6 insurrection. Our sad view is that no matter how we presented the fictional People's Second Amendment Militia, we could never have imagined storming Congress. For us, the pen is mightier.

Sadly, one of the co-author's passed away before the final publication. RIP old friend.

Time of Ends by Geoff Robberts is a political thriller set against the backdrop of the growing divide between the two political spectrums of America and the people caught in the center. After a school shooting in Florida leads to the death of his fourteen-year-old granddaughter Marisa, Bill Garrigan's life turns upside down. Already mourning the deaths of his wife and twin brother, Marisa's death becomes the tipping point that pushes him over the edge. Fuelled by a powerful desire to serve justice, Bill assassinates a popular bombastic radio broadcaster with a penchant for spreading misinformation. Soon, he forms a militia that attracts like-minded centrists eager to join his cause. As the militia grows their sphere of influence, the targets become increasingly high-profile, leading to the president enacting martial law. Will the revolution be successful?

As the political spectrum draws further apart due to the influence of social media and radical groups finding ways to have their voices heard, Time of Ends is a timely reminder of what happens when racism, bigotry, and religious fundamentalism run rampant in society. Violence begets violence, and Geoff Robberts' captivating political thriller perfectly encapsulates that. With a fast-moving plot and an unflinchingly raw and unapologetic narrative, Robberts tells an absorbing tale of a man with nothing to lose, finally taking matters into his own hands to right the ills facing society. Bill, Rick, and Gene are people from different walks of life who come together for a single purpose; the re-birth of America as a nation. If you love political thrillers with spot-on social commentary, you'll have a blast with Time of Ends.
