Author Biography

C.M. Halstead is a new and budding member of the author community. The stories coming out of his fingers are full of adventure and the characters called to it.
A wise man once said, “ … we have to do what we have to do. And well, thats just the way it is…” One of the simplest and yet profound statements of all time. Have you ever resisted something you knew you were suppose to do? Something you were made for, something you were called to do even. I bet you’ve been thinking about it for years. . .well, time to take action.
The resistance is gone, and it is an amazing ride. Come along with me as we journey through the soul of the writer in me. I look forward to sharing the stories and lessons of life through the characters and their endeavors.
Ps, did someone say bio? Ready for it: Husband, Dad, Marine for life, MKP brother, Explorer, Lover of the Outdoors and Teacher of Life to all that ask of it….

C.M. Halstead sets the stage for his Tripper Series with book one, Trip Walk. The year is 2114, and time travel is organized by a special government agency. An elite team is trained in a special underground facility. These guardians of the future have been chosen to travel through time “to change things and make them right.” Hand picked from a unique time in history, each tripper brings a special talent to the team. Among the group are three newbies: Mackenzie, June and John. They are joined by their mysterious leader, James Grey, his second in command Miokel, Charles the professional hit man, and Rosa, a former Marine turned SWAT in her era. Trained and ready, the mission launch is a go, it is time for a Trip Walk. Life as they know it is about to change more than they can imagine.

Trip Walk by C.M. Halstead is a science fiction novel about time travel. Halstead opens with a prologue, describing his thoughts about the possibility of time travel. This technique baits the reader for what lies ahead. The first several chapters introduce the cast of characters. Intertwined with the characterization, Halstead subtly includes the plot scheme. Once the characters travel through time, the pace picks up, peaks and descends. Although the Trip Walk was exciting, the mission comes and goes quickly, leaving many unanswered questions. Halstead’s military background prevails, as his writing technique reflects the planning, strategy and logistics of the mission at hand. Trip Walk sets the stage for its sequel; it leaves the reader curious and anticipating more.
