Words Left Unspoken is a beautiful poetry collection that covers a wide range of topics related to the human experience. Penned by J.A. McGovern, this collection takes readers on a journey, offering ingenious insights and observations along the way that make one contemplate and appreciate life's absurd twists and turns. The poems touch upon diverse topics and themes, exploring the human condition in myriad ways. During a casual stroll to the convenience store, the life trajectories of two strangers collide briefly in "Where Paths Cross." "American Tragedy" is a moving poem that laments the slow decay of ideals, vigor, and defiance in youth when emasculated by society's machinations over time. "Town" reveals the unique peculiarities of a remote American small town.

Words Left Unspoken is a riveting collection of poems that make you think and introspect while encouraging you to embrace the absurd oddities as well as the seemingly mundane events of life. J.A. McGovern gifts poetry lovers with a thought-provoking collection. While some poems offer readers sharp commentary on social issues such as racism, sexism, homophobia, justice, etc., others are more intimate and personal, focusing on themes like love, grief, yearning, nature, basketball, and more. Each poem and poetic story feels unique and brings something of their own to the narrative. Structurally and, at times, even stylistically, McGovern experiments quite a bit. But, the fundamental ideas and core concepts remain the same throughout the narrative. I very much enjoyed McGovern's verses and his imaginative poetic stories. Poetry lovers will devour this one with relish!
