Author Biography

While caring for her children at home, Sandy penned her first book; a 50 page memoir, and was hooked. Countless titles later, the author still finds herself with new story ideas in mind.

Although Sandy wouldn't dare compare her work to any of the greats, she does love such prestigious authors as Sandra Brown, Nicholas Sparks, David Baldacci, James Patterson, Sue Grafton, and John Grisham to name a few, so you may be able to detect a taste of these authors' styles in her books.

Sandy writes mostly suspense, although she has delved into romance, young adult, drama and erotica. For full chapter samples visit www.sandyappleyard.com. Subscribe to her newsletter and receive 'Misunderstood' for free.

Betrayal Only Comes In Green is a short, sharp thriller by author Sandy Appleyard. The second story in the Betrayal Series, the plot focuses on widower Saul Jessup, who lives a solitary life in San Bernardino and appears to be just like any other single man of his age. When sweet little Suzie and her mother move in on Saul’s street, however, a whole series of events are sparked that reveal Saul’s true nature, and why he’s suddenly become a prime target for a dangerous band of criminals who are also new to the area. Money is the key to many things in this suspenseful tale, some heartwarmingly good, and some truly, devastatingly tragic.

Sandy Appleyard has a gift for creating central characters which really suck you into their story, and I felt like that from the first moment I met Saul Jessup, as he mourns the loss of his beloved Margaret. Though Betrayal Only Comes In Green is a tale with plenty of action, suspense, threat and intrigue, it was the human element at its heart that kept me turning pages, right to its excellent conclusion. The writing is vivid and atmospheric, bringing each location to life in full colour as the action unwinds amid strained familial relationships and brand new encounters. Betrayal Only Comes In Green was an unexpectedly deep tale for so short a read, and I’d highly recommend it to fans of contemporary drama and realistic character portrayals. Overall, a high quality piece of storytelling.
